Waking up in a modern hospital room was not what Jones expected, but there he was. He tried to get out of the bed, but found that he was handcuffed to it, a police officer dozing in the chair adjacent to his place of rest. Jones struggled to remember what happened, before it all suddenly came rushing back, how they had fought a fucking angel and ended up defeated because of it. Taking care not to wake the policeman, Jones took note of his surroundings, realising that he was high up in a towering building in Nividia city, but before he could consider his next course of action, the Angel walked in, no noise coming from the impacts of their feet on the ground,
"I see you are awake," Salvadore, the Angel spoke lightly to Jones, who was not pretending to be asleep,
The officer awoke with a start and bolted from the room, assuring Jones that his fear that this was a highly ranking hero was not just a fear,
"You're bulletproof," Jones sighed, sitting up in the soft sheets of the hospital bed, "that isn't fair,"
His mind was still groggy, but he felt his non cuffed hand move, seemingly on its own. He tried to move it back, but it was as if someone else was controlling it,
'Don't fight it,' Nighthawk spoke inside his mind, 'I'm going to get us out of here,'
"Yes, I am," Salvadore responded, their many eyes glinting in the light, "and I am a fallen angel, just as your manipulator masqueraded as,"
Jones realised quickly that Salvadore assumed that he was under Nash's control and had to stifle a laugh. That was when he felt his left hand grip his right one, the one that was cuffed, and slowly pop the thumb from its socket,
"I need to know whether you were acting on your own, for it will decide the severity of your punishment," Salvadore began, but Jones interrupted,
"You didn't get both of my comrades," Jones bluffed, buying time as his thumb went further and further from its socket,
Salvadore's eyes widened, "There were two?"
"Yeah," Jones shot back, glad to be gaining leeway as his wrist slipped from the handcuff, "the one you hit with a goddamn divine smite and the one you were sword-fighting,"
"That first bolt was just a warning shot, it wasn't supposed to hit anyone,"
Just as Jones was about to dive for the window, the door burst open again, and Reigen field hit the Angel over the head with a baton. It had absolutely no effect on Salvadore, except giving him a fright, and as Jones slipped past Reigen and into the hall, he noticed that a hospital linen trolley was in full display,
"Hop in!" Reigen commanded, and Jones did as he said, knowing that the painkillers would make it harder for him to run,
Reigen hurled the cart down the corridor, hopping in himself as it spun out of control, smacking against a wall and tipping them over,
"You fucking donut!" Jones roared, "Why did you push the damn thing?"
Reigen jumped up and ran, leaving Jones behind as he sprinted towards the stairway,
"I can't even walk properly!" Jones screamed with frustration, "What the actual hell are you doing?"
"Taking Nash's advice!" He yelled, "Running the fuck away!"
Jones noticed something moving beneath the linen, and pulling it off, saw the body of a man, completely out cold. It was the healer, and somehow Reigen had been able to break him out of death row without detection. Jones almost laughed at the man's competence and incompetence, but the thundering footfalls of the Angel snapped him back to his senses.
