Honest's facial features were almost locked in concentration as he realized that the influence of the Empire in this world had become completely inferior to that of the G.D.I. This decline meant that the profits and bribes Honest could receive daily were pitifully small compared to before. As the Empire's influence waned, so too did Honest's status, which was once firmly attached to the Empire. He was no longer the powerful figure who could wave his hands and people follow.

More importantly, the current Empire was now inseparable from the G.D.I. Due to the excesses of Honest and his subordinates, the Empire's treasury suffered severe losses, leaving the remaining wealth at less than one-tenth of what it was at the Empire's prime. This situation led to a shortage of supplies in the capital, affecting not only the slums but also many urban areas, with even the rich potentially facing infighting.

As a result, the empire had no choice but to sign a trade agreement with the G.D.I, relying on imports from them to sustain itself. Meanwhile, Sebastian had taken control of most of the world within the H.O.T.D., ensuring no shortage of supplies. He had established numerous production factories, allowing him to produce all kinds of materials independently. The resources he provided to the empire were just a small, insignificant portion.

The capital barely managed to maintain its status quo, entirely dependent on trade imports from the G.D.I. Should Jiuxia stop exporting to the empire, the chains in the capital would soon break down, plunging the city into an even greater crisis, possibly sparking the rise of a new Revolution.

The empire's population had also dwindled severely, with many choosing to join the G.D.I, further diminishing the empire's productivity. Surrounding nations had already joined the G.D.I, leaving the empire nearly powerless to resist an attack. It could be said that the lifeblood of the entire empire was now in the hands of the enemy.

Honest shook his head, pulling his thoughts back to the present. He needed to find a way to curb the momentum of the G.D.I, knowing that if the empire's situation worsened, his fate would be dire.

His first choice was Esdeath. After his previous attempt to have Esdeath intimidate the G.D.I by contacting Sebastian failed, he found himself increasingly distant from her. Despite summoning her multiple times, she refused him for various reasons. Today, he decided to meet Esdeath in person under the pretense of discussing strategies to contain the enemy.

With determination, Honest headed to Esdeath's mansion. Upon arrival, the servants opened the door, and Honest entered the room, where Esdeath stood with the Three Beasts behind her.

"General Esdeath, it's been a long time," Honest said with a smirk.

Although they were on the same side, he knew all too well the dreadful strength of Esdeath and understood that he couldn't afford to anger her. As he spoke, he carefully observed her for any unusual signs, but she remained immaculate.

Even the Honest had no idea that Esdeath had already joined Sebastian with the three Beasts, and her real self was in another world. The Esdeath before him was merely a fake, a Spy disguised by Sebastian using advanced holographic projection technology to perfectly mimic her appearance and behavior. To ensure the deception was complete, Sebastian even gave the Spy a physique identical to Esdeath.

The fake Esdeath played the part convincingly, with the three Beasts cooperating seamlessly.

"It's very interesting," She said, smiling at Honest, who took a nervous step back.

"I-I came to discuss how to deal with Sebastian and the G.D.I," Honest stammered.

"Really?" The fake Esdeath smiled, her expression mirroring the real one. "Isn't that better? That way, we'll have another war to fight. I was just worried that I haven't had any fun recently."

In truth, Esdeath didn't care about political matters. As long as her desire for killing and fighting was satisfied, it didn't matter which side she fought for. Even after the empire's fall, she still sought battles, which was why she chose to join Sebastian.

Honest swallowed hard, realizing he had no other options. "But Esdeath, you are the general of the empire..."

"Am I the only general of the empire?" The fake Esdeath replied with a smile, causing Honest to recall.

Indeed, there was another powerful figure in the imperial capital, General Budo, whose status and strength rivaled Esdeath. After his first encounter with Sebastian, Budo became wary of him, seeing him as a significant threat to the empire. Budo was also Honest's political opponent, and they had always been at odds. But now, with no other options, Honest realized they were both in the same sinking ship.

Unlike Esdeath, Budo was extraordinarily loyal to the empire, even more than his own life. Faced with the current threat from the G.D.I, Budo would surely not turn a blind eye. Honest knew he needed to find a way to win over Budo, who held significant military power and influence within the empire.

Frowning slightly, Honest left Esdeath's mansion.

"I'll take my leave now," He said, departing immediately.

After Honest left, the fake Esdeath used a system radio to inform Sebastian of everything that had just transpired.
