"Eleanor, Elle, will you please just look at me." My heart ached with the most excruciating pain I have ever felt, and my life has had many heartaches, but this was the worst.
"I want to see him, I need to speak to him Henry." My fist beat down to the diner table as an audience peered on in the booth next to us.
"You heard him, he wanted me to take you. Kaleb asked for this." His hands grasped together as beads of sweat formed upon them.
"He only said that so you would leave his pack alone. Not that there was many left."
"Will you keep your voice down?"
"Why, are you ashamed of what you have done, killing innocent people and for what just to get me back."
"Eleanor." He whispered smiling coyly to the onlookers. "You know this isn't real don't you, what you feel for him, I mean?"
"You don't know what I feel." I pushed the plate of food away the sight of it making me nauseous.
"Have you forgotten how you felt only a few days ago about me." He was coy as he reddened.
"I'm sorry Henry, but that is gone now. Kaleb is the only one that I truly love nothing will change that."
"You can keep telling yourself that, but I'm not going to let you forget what we have." His lips turned in the corners as he pulled the sweatshirt sleeves over his hands.
"So what's the plan. I mean you always have one don't you and why are we still here in Louisiana. I thought you would have dragged me back to Sitka by now."
"My father is meeting a witch here from Louisiana it's the full moon tomorrow night the ritual can only be broken then."
"So that's it. We let him break the curse, and he can no longer be killed by my blood."
"Yes that's it."
"And you are ok with that?" I studied him as he shrugged lightly.
"Why does it matter to you? I thought you didn't care anymore." He faintly laughed as I looked away. I wasn't sure what I felt for Henry anymore, I couldn't confidently say I didn't care a big part of me still wanted him safe.
"So when the spell is broken what then."
"In what way do you mean?"
"I mean, where do we go from there? Will you be going back to Sitka?"
"I haven't thought that far ahead, what are your plans I mean you will be free to do and please as you will."
"Oh, I hadn't really thought about it in that way." My heart stopped for a second as I thought about being alone, this scared me more than anything.
"I am sure whatever you decide you will go on to do wonderful things." He pulled his sleeve up and looked at his watch.
"You have somewhere to be?"
"No, someone is joining us who I thought you might like to see."
"Who?" He nodded to the door as a smile spread across my face.
"Tia. Oh my goodness, what how is this possible." My arms opened wide as I stood to my feet running to her. "I thought you were dead." I embraced her tightly as she squeezed me back.
"I'm still feeling a little fragile." She grinned as I released her from my grip.
"Sorry, come and sit with us." I pulled her to the booth as she waved to Henry. "Finn thought you were dead?"
"I was I mean nearly. I have Louis to thank for my life."
"Of course I should have known." I nodded graciously to Henry as he smiled back. "And Lina?"
