They could hear Ratchet's vehicle mode rumbling in the distance, fast approaching the crash site. Sideswipe's gaze kept drifting back to the small, still figure, a mix of curiosity and disbelief filling his circuits.
In a matter of nano-kliks, Ratchet arrived, shifting back into his robot mode as he immediately approached the twins and the capsule. His optics took in the damaged earth, the capsule's strange markings, and finally the small figure lying inside, his expression unreadable.
"What in Primus's name..." Ratchet's voice was a low murmur as he knelt beside the capsule, his scanner emitting a soft hum as he began an assessment. The readings confirmed what Sunstreaker and Sideswipe had feared but couldn't believe. It was, indeed, a sparkling—a true Cybertronian sparkling, alive and well, though clearly in stasis.
Ratchet's optics narrowed as he scanned further. "This is impossible. Sparklings have been lost to us for mega-vorns. There hasn't been a new spark in...in countless cycles. Where could this one have come from?"
Sideswipe shrugged, trying to process it all. "We have no idea, Ratchet. We were just as surprised as you are. The capsule activated when we touched it. Whoever sent it—whatever put it here—knew how to shield and protect this sparkling from just about anything."
Sunstreaker, ever observant, chimed in. "Check his data, Ratchet. Maybe he holds the answer."
Ratchet gave a terse nod, extending his hand over the sparkling's frame, letting his scanners tap into the data archives embedded within the young bot's core. Immediately, data scrolled across Ratchet's HUD, an initial scan showing the basics: the sparkling's frame design, structure, and age. But as he delved deeper, he froze.
There, buried deep within the sparkling's programming, was a signature—a signature that carried the unmistakable coding and energy resonance of a Prime.
Ratchet pulled back, optics wide with shock. "This... this isn't just any sparkling," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "According to his data, his coding contains traces of Prima, one of the very first Primes."
Sunstreaker and Sideswipe exchanged looks, processing the weight of Ratchet's discovery. "So, Prima himself had a hand in creating this sparkling?" Sideswipe asked, still struggling to understand.
Ratchet nodded slowly. "It appears so. But I can't imagine why. We're talking about a Prime who hasn't been seen or heard from in countless vorns. For him to not only create a sparkling but also send it here, to Earth—it's a mystery, one with implications that we can't even begin to fathom."
As they spoke, a faint pulse of light flickered in the sparkling's optics, signaling his reactivation. The small Cybertronian's optics blinked open, revealing a soft, curious glow. He looked up at the towering figures surrounding him, his expression one of innocent wonder, unaware of the shock and awe he'd already stirred.
Ratchet softened his tone, speaking gently to the young bot. "Hello, little one. My name is Ratchet. Do you know your name?"
The sparkling hesitated before his small voice replied, barely audible, "Moonshine."
The name, simple yet poignant, seemed to echo in the quiet forest. Ratchet, Sunstreaker, and Sideswipe exchanged glances once more. Moonshine's appearance marked a new beginning, and they knew, without a doubt, that nothing would be the same.
This chapter introduces Moonshine's first moments of awareness and reveals Prima's link to his creation, adding even more mystery to his origins. Let me know if you want any further details added!
