They sat on a bench under the old oak tree, the place where they had shared countless dreams as children. Taehyung took a deep breath, steeling himself for what he needed to say. “I realized that I can’t keep holding onto the anger. I can’t let my father’s death dictate my life or my love for you.”
Tears filled Hazel’s eyes. “Taehyung, I’m so sorry for everything. I never wanted any of this. I love you, and I want to move forward with you.”
“I want that too,” he replied, his heart aching at her words. “But it’s hard. I need to confront my father’s death and find closure. I can’t do that if I’m still angry.”
“I understand,” Hazel said softly, reaching for his hand. “I’ll support you, whatever it takes. We can face this together.”
