Aera & Heeseung

Aera lay beside Heeseung in her bedroom, the warm, soft glow of the late afternoon sun streaming through the windows, casting golden light across the room. The tension and anger that had defined so much of their time together was gone, replaced with something softer, more intimate. Their hands were intertwined, resting on Heeseung's chest, where Aera could feel the steady rhythm of his heartbeat beneath her fingertips. The sensation grounded her, making everything feel just a little more real.

Heeseung shifted slightly, his thumb gently rubbing the back of her hand as he played with her fingers, absentmindedly placing them right where his heart beat the strongest. Aera could feel it—a deep, strong thump that mirrored the feelings she'd been trying to ignore for so long.

She turned her head to look at him, studying his features. His messy hair, the way his lips slightly parted, his eyes gazing up at the ceiling, completely lost in thought. The weight of everything—their argument, their sudden confession, the entire emotional rollercoaster—hung between them like an unspoken truth.

And then, she started laughing. A small chuckle at first, but then it bubbled up into something louder.

Heeseung furrowed his brow, looking over at her in confusion. "What the fuck are you laughing at?" he asked, a half-smile creeping onto his face. "Did I do something?"

Aera shook her head, still giggling. "No, no, it's just—" She took a breath, her eyes sparkling with amusement as she tried to gather her thoughts. "This. Us. I can't believe it. After everything, after all that shit between us... Look at us now."

Heeseung raised an eyebrow, still smiling but clearly confused. "What about us?"

"We hated each other!" Aera exclaimed, still laughing. "Remember? You were the biggest asshole to me, and I was constantly thinking about how much I wanted to punch you in the face. And now..." She gestured to the space between them, the intimacy they now shared. "Now we're lying here like... this."
