Aera & Heeseung

Aera's laughter slowly faded as she found herself lost in the moment with Heeseung. The coziness between them was unexpected, especially after everything that had happened. She hadn't thought she could feel so relaxed, so at peace with him, especially not in such an intimate way. Her heart fluttered in her chest, her fingers still tangled in his, and her mind was racing.

"What are we even going to tell the others?" Aera asked, turning her head slightly to look at him. "They're going to lose their shit. Especially Minju."

Heeseung chuckled at the thought, rubbing his thumb over the back of her hand absentmindedly. "Oh, for sure. Jungwon's going to be like, 'I fucking knew it! I knew something was up between you two!'" He deepened his voice, trying to mimic Jungwon, making Aera laugh softly.

"Minju is definitely going to freak out. She'll probably give me the 'I told you so' speech." Aera sighed but couldn't help but smile at the thought of her best friend's reaction. She already imagined Minju's dramatic gasp followed by a barrage of questions.

Heeseung grinned. "You think Sunghoon will say anything?"

"Sunghoon?" Aera scrunched up her nose, thinking. "He'll probably just give me one of his cold glares and mutter something like, 'Took you long enough.'" She mimicked Sunghoon's expression, which only made Heeseung laugh harder.

"And Jake," Heeseung added, shaking his head. "Jake's going to be the absolute worst. He'll be so annoying about it."

"Oh my God, he'll never let us live it down!" Aera groaned, covering her face with her hand as if imagining the torment they were going to endure from Jake's teasing. "He'll probably start calling us 'lovebirds' or something equally cringe."

They both laughed, but the conversation soon slowed as the reality of what they'd just said sunk in. Telling the others about them meant admitting to themselves that something between them had changed—shifted from whatever this crazy experiment had been to something else. Something more real.

Heeseung shifted beside her, turning his body slightly so he was lying on his side, facing her. His gaze softened as he looked at her, their fingers still intertwined. Aera felt a shiver run down her spine from the intensity of his stare. It was as if he could see right through her.

"You know..." he started, his voice dropping a little lower. "You're cute when you're flustered like this."

Aera blinked, suddenly caught off guard. "What?" She let out a nervous laugh. "I'm not flustered—what are you talking about?"

Heeseung smirked. "Yes, you are. Look at you. You're blushing like crazy right now."

Her face burned even more at his words. She tried to laugh it off, swatting him lightly with her free hand. "I'm not blushing, shut up."
