"We're running out of time," Aera murmured, her voice barely above a whisper as they strolled side by side along the deck, fingers loosely intertwined.
Heeseung sighed, his thumb brushing over her hand. "Yeah... we wasted so much time being idiots and arguing over nothing."
Aera leaned her head against his shoulder, her steps slowing. "I wish tonight didn't have to end like this. I'm not ready to let go."
Heeseung paused, letting go of her hand and turning to face her. "Aera... I'm sorry, but look," he said, glancing toward the horizon where the first light of dawn was breaking. "Tomorrow's already here. Dragging this out is only gonna hurt more."
She opened her mouth to respond, but the words stuck in her throat. Heeseung's expression softened as he gave her one last lingering look before walking away, leaving her rooted in place on the empty deck.
Aera's heart clenched as she watched him disappear, the weight of unspoken feelings hanging heavy in the air, the night slipping away just like the moments they let pass between them.
