Chapter 5: Dragon's First Night

It had been a long day for Daichi as he had taken his first few steps towards becoming a huntsman. He had made it to Beacon Academy despite the urge to leave. Daichi had also managed to make a few new friends in the form of Genji Takahashi and Nathan Sampsons. Both were incoming first years like Daichi was and would be joining him with the other new first years for the team selection initiation. Besides that, Daichi also had finally reunited with his little sister Yang after years apart. Just like with Ruby, there was a lot that Yang and Daichi talked about. The two enjoyed their reunion before ending the day by going to the ballroom. From there, tomorrow would be a busy day for all of them, but for right now, it was time for them to sleep.

Ballroom: Beacon Academy, Vale

It was the middle of the night, and all of the new first years had gathered in the ballroom to sleep. Tomorrow, they'd get their own dorm rooms after all of the teams were formed. Daichi tried to force his body to get some sleep, but after hearing people talking, he decided to go and check it all out. Walking over, Daichi was able to make out the voices of Ruby and Yang. He figured that the two of them were unable to go to sleep like him and were spending the night talking to each other. The closer Daichi got to where Yang and Ruby were, he started to hear another voice. The voice that Daichi heard was that of the Schnee girl from before, and she did not sound too happy.

"You all need to be quiet," the Schnee girl told Yang and Ruby as they lay there in their sleeping bags

"What's going on?" Daichi asked as he walked over

"If you must know, these two were being loud and..." the Schnee girl said before she stopped and turned around to see Daichi standing there

"Oh hey, it's Daichi," Ruby said

"Yeah, I could hear you two talking from all the way over there," Daichi said, pointing back to where he was sleeping

Daichi then noticed that the Schnee girl was frozen in place and was quietly stuttering

"What's wrong with her?" Daichi asked Yang and Ruby

"I think it might be because of that," Yang answered, pointing at Daichi

Daichi looked down at himself and saw that he wasn't wearing a shirt right now and was bare chested. Ruby and Yang, along with the Schnee girl, could see Daichi's extremely toned and muscular chest along with all of the scars on it.

"You...You...You are indecent," the Schnee girl said, blushing as she looked away from Daichi

"I think you fried her brain," Ruby said

"I am fine. There is nothing wrong with me. Just be quiet so the rest of us can sleep," the Schnee girl said before she stormed off

Daichi could smell a weird scent coming off of the Schnee girl as she walked away and wondered what it was

"You should probably go and put a shirt on," Yang tells Daichi

"I guess I could," Daichi said with a shrug

"There goes my reading," a voice said with an annoyed sigh

Daichi looked over and saw that cat faunus girl from before laying down next to the window, reading a book. The cat faunus girl blew out her candles and got up, walking away with her book in her hand.

"Who is that?" Daichi asked Ruby and Yang

"She's cool," Ruby said

"She does seem kind of distant though and kind of a buzzkill," Yang said with a shrug

Daichi let out a mental sigh as neither of his sisters actually answered his question

"I'm guessing she didn't like your sisterly affection for each other?" Daichi asked Yang and Ruby
