Chapter 16: "Vikrant's Warning"

The dark energy of the forest clung to the air like a thick fog. Natasha's heart raced as the weight of the moment pressed down on her. Rajvir’s power surged around her, wrapping her in a protective cocoon, but the ominous presence of Vikrant lingered nearby, his gaze fixed on her with a predatory intensity.

Rajvir stood tall, his body tense and ready for battle. The fury in his eyes was enough to set the air ablaze, but Natasha could see something else beneath it: fear. Not for himself, but for her. He was desperate to protect her, but this was unlike anything they had faced before.

Vikrant smiled, his lips curving in a way that made Natasha’s stomach churn. "You think you can keep her from me, Rajvir? How naive."

Rajvir growled, stepping forward, his dark energy crackling in the air around him. "You don’t know what you’re dealing with."

"I know enough," Vikrant replied smoothly. "I know that the bond between you and this human is an abomination. It’s against the laws of our world. And now... now you’ve doomed her."

Natasha felt a cold chill crawl up her spine. She wanted to speak, to demand answers, but her voice caught in her throat. Vikrant’s words cut deep, and for the first time, doubt crept into her heart. What had their bond really done? What price would she have to pay?

Rajvir didn’t waver. His eyes burned with defiance. "She’s mine," he growled. "And no one will take her from me."

Vikrant chuckled darkly, his eyes gleaming. "Is that what you believe, Rajvir? That you can keep her? You’ve already sealed her fate by bringing her into this. The more she stays bound to you, the more she’ll lose herself."

Natasha’s heart pounded in her chest, her mind reeling with fear and confusion. She had felt the changes. She had felt the bond pulling at her, warping her emotions, her very essence. But she had pushed it aside, believing that their love was stronger than whatever was happening to her.

But now... now she wasn’t so sure.

Rajvir turned to her, his eyes filled with anguish. "I can fix this," he said, his voice desperate. "I can find a way to keep you with me. But you have to trust me."

Natasha’s eyes filled with tears as she looked at him, the man who had become her world, her obsession. She wanted to believe him. She wanted to believe that they could have a future together, but the fear gnawed at her, eating away at her resolve.

"I’m scared," she whispered, her voice trembling. "I don’t want to lose myself."

Rajvir cupped her face in his hands, forcing her to look into his eyes. "You don’t have to be afraid. I will burn the world for you if I have to. I will destroy anyone or anything that tries to come between us."

His words wrapped around her heart like a chain, binding her to him in a way that was both thrilling and terrifying. Vikrant’s smile widened, satisfied. "So it begins."
