Natasha could hardly sleep that night. Every time she closed her eyes, images of Rajvir flashed behind her lids—his intense gaze, the shadows that danced around him, the weight of his words. Her heart was a battlefield, torn between her growing feelings for him and the undeniable danger that came with being connected to his world.

By the time morning light filtered through her curtains, Natasha felt exhausted but resolute. She had to do something. She couldn’t let the fear paralyze her any longer. She couldn’t continue avoiding the reality of her connection with Rajvir or the consequences that came with it.

After getting dressed, Natasha decided to seek out Aryan. He was the only one who understood the gravity of what was happening, and he had already proven to be a valuable ally. She sent him a message asking to meet up at the usual spot in the park. Within minutes, Aryan replied, agreeing to meet her there.

As Natasha walked through the quiet streets toward the park, her mind replayed Rajvir’s words from the night before. Love in the shadows requires sacrifice. Was she truly ready to make that sacrifice? Could she bear to leave everything behind, including the world she had known all her life?

When she arrived at the park, Aryan was already sitting on one of the benches, looking deep in thought. He glanced up as she approached, offering a small, knowing smile.

“You look like you’ve made a decision,” he said as she sat down beside him.

“I haven’t, not entirely,” Natasha replied, running a hand through her hair. “But I know I can’t keep putting this off. Rajvir is right—every day we delay puts everyone at greater risk. I need to figure out what to do.”

Aryan nodded thoughtfully. “I’ve been doing more research. There’s a lot I’ve learned about the nature of these interdimensional connections. If Rajvir stays in your world too long, it’s going to attract powerful enemies. Forces that even he might not be able to fend off alone.”

“Can I ask you something?” Natasha asked, turning to him with a look of desperation. “You’ve told me about the dangers of staying connected to Rajvir, but what happens if I choose to sever the bond? Is there any way to break this connection without putting either of us in more danger?”

Aryan looked hesitant for a moment, his brow furrowed. “There are ways to break the connection, but they come at a price. You’d need to fully close the gateway between your world and his, and that might require a sacrifice of its own. You may lose all memory of him, of everything that’s happened.”

Natasha’s heart clenched at the thought. “I wouldn’t remember him?”

“It’s possible,” Aryan said quietly. “But that would protect you from being drawn into his world, and it would protect your world from further disruptions.”

Natasha stared at the ground, the weight of his words settling on her like a lead blanket. Losing her memories of Rajvir… Could she live with that? Would that even be living? Despite everything—the fear, the uncertainty—her feelings for Rajvir had become a part of her. They had shaped her, opened her eyes to a reality far beyond what she had ever imagined.

“I don’t know if I can do that,” Natasha whispered, her voice trembling. “I don’t know if I can forget him.”

Aryan was quiet for a moment before he placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. “It’s not an easy decision, Natasha. And I’m not going to push you one way or another. But just know, whatever choice you make, there will be consequences. You just have to decide which ones you’re willing to live with.”

Natasha nodded, her mind spinning with the possibilities. As much as she feared losing Rajvir, she feared losing herself even more. But could she face a life without him, without the bond they shared?

“I need to talk to him again,” she said after a long silence. “I need to know what he thinks. I can’t make this decision without hearing from him one last time.”

Aryan gave her a small smile, though there was a hint of sadness in his eyes. “I understand. Just be careful, Natasha. You’re dealing with forces far more powerful than you realize.”

---

That evening, Natasha sat on her bed, staring at the book that had brought Rajvir into her life. Her fingers traced the edges of the pages, her heart pounding in anticipation. She knew what she had to do—she had to call him again, even if it meant facing the truth head-on.

Taking a deep breath, she whispered his name into the quiet room. “Rajvir, I need to see you.”

The air around her seemed to still, the familiar chill creeping over her skin. A moment later, he appeared in the shadows by her window, his presence as commanding as ever. His eyes locked onto hers, and Natasha felt the familiar pull of their connection, as if an invisible thread bound them together.

“You’ve called me again,” he said, his voice low and filled with an intensity that made her shiver. “Have you made your decision?”

“I don’t know yet,” Natasha admitted, her voice shaking slightly. “But I needed to talk to you. I needed to understand…what you truly want from me.”

Rajvir’s gaze softened as he stepped closer, his hand reaching out to brush a strand of hair from her face. “I want you, Natasha. That is the simple truth. I want you by my side, in my world. But I know the dangers you face if you choose me.”

“Do you want me to leave everything behind?” she asked, her heart aching with the weight of her words.

Rajvir’s expression grew darker, conflicted. “Yes,” he said after a long pause. “But I do not ask this lightly. I know what it means for you to give up your world. I know the sacrifices you would have to make.”

“And what if I choose not to go with you?” Natasha asked, her voice barely a whisper.

Rajvir’s jaw tightened, his eyes burning with an intensity she had never seen before. “If you choose to stay, I will leave your world. I will let you go. But understand this, Natasha—I will never stop wanting you. I will never stop being drawn to you, even if we are separated by worlds.”

Natasha felt tears welling in her eyes, the weight of his words crashing down on her. She was torn between the two worlds—her own, where safety and familiarity lay, and Rajvir’s, where passion and danger intertwined.

“I don’t want to lose you,” she whispered, her voice trembling. “But I’m afraid. I’m afraid of what might happen if I choose you.”

Rajvir stepped even closer, his hand gently cupping her face. “Fear is natural, Natasha. But sometimes, the greatest rewards come from the greatest risks.”

She closed her eyes, feeling the warmth of his touch seep into her skin. Every fiber of her being wanted to give in, to let go of her fears and fall into the darkness with him. But at the same time, she knew the price she would have to pay.

“I’ll give you one more night to decide,” Rajvir said softly, his thumb brushing her cheek. “Whatever you choose, I will honor it.”

Natasha opened her eyes, meeting his gaze. “Thank you.”

With a final lingering look, Rajvir began to fade back into the shadows, leaving Natasha standing alone in her room, her heart heavy with the weight of the decision that lay before her.

---

The night stretched long and silent, Natasha lying awake as the hours passed. The weight of her impending choice bore down on her, every possible outcome playing out in her mind.

As dawn approached, Natasha sat up in bed, her heart pounding with the realization that no matter what she chose, her life would never be the same.

The time for hesitation was over.
