chapter 21 - the flight back home

TW: small amount of swearing

moral of the shot: the crew got up early and got an Uber to the airport. With their packed suitcases, they went through passport control and security and are now on the plane returning back home.

The cabin crew shut and locked the airplane doors before sitting down in their seats and putting on their seatbelts to prepare for take off.

"please fasten your seat belts and prepare for take off, I'm your pilot Chris and you are travelling with Swag and Chris airlines." Chris spoke from the speakers.

The crew followed his orders and relaxed in their seats, the green italian put the air conditioning on above his seat. They were in the same seats as last time and had no complaints since they were chuffed with the arrangement. The plane took off as the people sat next to the windows looked out of them, observering the view. 3 rested his head on 4s shoulder as the blue meme guardian stroked his hair affectionately. Tari and Saiko held hands and watched Netflix together, their fingers interlocked. Boopkins read "volume 2 - Reader x Miku" whilst Luigi read a cookbook, wrote by none other than his idol -Gordon Ramsay-. Meggy was trying to sleep but found it difficult due to Mario's constant snoring

"zzzzzzz spaghetti zzzzzz ravioli zzzzzz"

Time flew by for the passengers. The meme guardians were halfway through watching a 3 season series, the girlfriends were asleep resting on each other, the Italians were also asleep and Meggy and Boopkins were just listening to music.

"hey babe?" 4 asked, pausing the series they were watching.

"hmm? what's up?" 3 replied, looking at his fiancé.

"you look really attractive today." 4 admitted, caressing the purple meme guardians cheek before kissing it. 3 blushed with a somewhat shocked and flustered expression plastered on his face.

"why thank you my hot fiancé! you don't look too bad yourself. In fact, is that my eyeliner? it suits you, you look very charming darling~" 3 replied, running a hand through his hair with a smug expression on his face, acting like he had long flowing hair that went down to his waist. He then kissed 4s forehead and stared deeply into his eyes, admiring his talent for putting on eye liner for the first time.

"I could get lost in your eyes. And how are you so good at eye liner! It took me at least 200 tries to get the perfect wing but you got it first try! " 3 said, gazing at 4. He then noticed that the blue meme guardian's pupils began to shrink and shake a little.

'perfect...'

4s smile dropped and his eyes met with the floor, tears welling up. He fiddled with his fingers that lay on his lap and sniffled a little bit, he looked out of the window attempting to hide his face.

"shit! I'm so so so so so sorry 4! I didn't mean to say that." 3 apologized frantically. He held his head in one of his hands, his arm rested on his thigh.

"oh fuck." 3 mummbled. He felt his stomach drop and a wave of guilt submerged him.

"I shouldve been more careful with my words, I- uh- um- fuck! what do I do? what do I do?" 3 stuttered under his breath. His leg was shaking, heart racing, it was getting hard to breathe. 4 tried to stop the thoughts of the event that happened that day but couldn't help but get flashbacks. He almost left 3 and abandoned him, leaving him to die, he took a deep breath and thought of his happiest moments. 3 proposing to him, going out on a dinner date, spending time with 3 for his birthday and hanging out with their friends. He composed himself with another deep breath, out of the corner of his eye, he saw 3 almost having a panic attack. His head slightly shaking from left to right, his eyes firmly shut, panting in and out, barely getting words out from under his breath. 4 felt better and turned around to fully face 3, who couldn't look back at him. He grabbed 3s cheeks with his sweaty palms and pulled him into a kiss. A few tears slowly fell for the 2 of them, but they were tears of relief. 3 placed his hands onto 4s that were gripping onto his flushed face, intertwining their fingers. They broke off their kiss and 4 immediately hugged 3.

"4, I'm so sor-"

"it's fine, just don't say it again." 4 smiled, burying his face into 3s chest, letting out a small chuckle.

"okay I'm sorry still, are you okay?" 3 asked, still having that part of him that wouldn't let go of the guilt.

"I'm okay. Thanks my love."

They resumed watching their series (which was Heartstopper by the way) and held hands that relaxed ontop of the arm rest between them both.

Saiko had woken up from the distress of the meme guardians infront of her and felt something heavy on her shoulder. Tari. She nudged Boopkins and brought a finger up to her lip, hinting at him to not say anything. On the phone, she typed in,

"hey, Tari loves ducks and I want to get her something duck related for Christmas, got any ideas?"

She slid the phone over to the green fish and smiled. He read the message and typed back in.

"ooooooo yeah! I know! There's this new duck hoodie that just came out and it would stop her from stealing yours 😉😊!"

Saiko smiled and gave him a thumbs up, thanking him dearly. She wrote it down in her phone and stroked her girlfriend's blue hair lovingly, failing to resist the urge to kiss her cheek.

Luigi shared some of the recipes he had found in his book with Meggy as she faked being interested. She truly was happy that he was trying to he helpful but couldn't escape the fact that she has zerø cooking ability. On top of that, whenever Luigi read aloud an ingredient, she always misheard him and instead heard either "spaghetti" , "tortellini" or " ravioli"  due to Mario's obnoxious snoring.

Belle came round, offering any confections from the trolley resulting in 6 packets of Biscoff biscuits being bought by none other than SMG4 (for free) and Meggy had bought herself a cup of coffee.

"this is your captain speaking, buckle your seatbelts, we are landing in less than 5 minutes." Chris announced. This woke some of the sleepers up and the crew followed his orders. Once the plane had landed, they thanked Chris and Belle and were happy to be home, well not exactly home but not in a different country.
