Trauma.
There are no words.
Bradley was there, she saw every moment of what happened, yet she was somewhere else. It was as if she was watching a movie of her life, from high above. As the intensity increased, she floated higher and higher away from it all. Her body was shutting down, taking the will to fight along with it.
Mark's eyes widened with the impact of the bullet in his midsection. Bradley immediately jerked her elbow backwards connecting with Evil 2's face. He leaned backward enough that Bradley was able crawl towards the end of the couch before he pinned her down again. The movement was just enough that she was able to reach Mark's outstretched hand.
The held each other tightly, The physical contact was intense, the communication without words was understood. The pain in his eyes was unbearable, full of agony and sorrow. Bradley squeezed his hand even tighter, sending encouragement of love and forgiveness. Tears fell from his eyes as his breath faded. All that remained of Mark was the shell of his body. He was the one that had given her the strength to live and now he was gone.
Tears streaked her flushed cheeks as her head fell against the armrest of the couch. Bradley didn't dare let go of Mark's hand, even as she lost control over the rest of her body. The feeling of the drugs taking over control was familiar, as quick and painless as it was just days earlier. Mark's steel blue eyes remained open, his body now lifeless. Bradley continued to cling to his still warm hand, reassuring herself she would be with him again soon.
Bradley didn't feel the cool of the water as she watched her body being tossed into the lake.
