*Niall's POV*
She's different. She lights up a room with her smile, and yet leaves something behind.. Something that lingers, making you want to look into her eyes again. She's beautiful, but she can't stand me, Why is that a surprise to me?
"I'll finish grinding the coffee." I glanced over my shoulder in her direction.
She took a deep breath through her nose, and nodded, still helping a coustmer. I quickly grinded what was left of the coffee and walked onto the stage.
"What the hell are you doing?"
I thought to myself. The feeling of my fingers wrapping around the cold guitar, pulling to my torso was sudden. I had no idea what I was doing, I just did it. I swallowed hard, positioning the guitar around my body, recalling what Mrs. Johnson told me an hour before.
** Aubrey's POV**
"Yes ma'am, you would like a large mocha coffee, and a slice of the wild berry crumble bread, correct? Okay, that will be 8 pounds please."
I had made my way back to the counter and was helping a costumer, glancing to Niall subcontously. he started strumming on a guitar, slowly, and words fell from his lips the meaning of them showing on his face. Eyes closed tightly, his mouth forming every word carfuly.
"Give me love like her.. 'Cause lately I've been waking up alone..." His eyes opened, but he wouldn't look up. I don't understand. He isn't being his normal cocky self. He is being deep, and he had an amazing voice. I looked over to the costumers that were exiting the shop. How can they leave? He's absolutely captivating.
"My, my, my, my, give me love.. Give me love," he almost pleaded.
Everiyone had left, and he strummed one more note, then slowly set the guitar down.
"That was really good.. How long have you played?" I asked.
He raised his eye brows, questioning me.
"Um.. A few years. I've always loved playing, it's something me dad and I do all the time."
He walked past me and behind the counter.
"Do you want a frappe? I know thats your go to," he was suddenly short, as if he needed to protect himself. His gaze lingered as I nodded in compliance. My eyes followed his movements, debating if i shoud trust him.
"So, yo--" I was cut off by Natilie walking through the door.
"Good, Niall. You actually showed. They're coming. On their way here now. Be ready." She was totally different than an hour before. My eyebrows scrunched together questioning her statement.
"Well hello to you too, Natilie. Wait, what? WHat do they want now?" i could see a touch of anger rise inside of him, his eyes grew from a lighter, subtle blue, to a dark, deep blue.
"What th-"
"Niall get her in the storage room they can't know shes here, that would just make this even worse." she cut me off agan.
"Wha is going on? And if someone cuts me off again I am just going to leave."
"Aubrey, just come with me. You don't need to be here. I'm going to take you back to my house-" Niall tried to exlain.
"There isn't enough time! Take her to the back. Now, Niall." Natilie had a stern expression, then it sofened as she said,
"Please... I can't fight them alone anymore."
I looked towards Natilie, then to Niall, not wanting to budge. Niall wrapped his arm around the small of my back and guided me to the storage room.
"Niall, I swear to God, if you don't tell me who these people are and what they want I will strangle you! Tell me." I looked into his darkened eyes searching them for some sort of answer.
"They knew your father. Your father was incredibly intelligent and had many ideas about people, and concepts. These people are responsible for your fathers death.. And if they find out you're here, they could do terrible things to you, but I', not going to let that happen.. I'll explain more later." He kissed my cheek and was gone, leaving his sweet scent behind.
"what's going on?" i whispered to myself.
