⚠️TRIGGER WARNING SELF HARM SCENE!⚠️

Mina POV

Mina sat behind the counter at work, her fingers tapping lightly on her phone. The shift had been slow, with little to no customers coming in, giving her plenty of time to think about the amazing date she had with Minho last Saturday. A smile spread across her face as she remembered his laughter and the way he looked at her in the rain.

Her phone buzzed, and she quickly unlocked it to see a message from Minho. He was taking a break during dance practice. She could almost picture him, slightly out of breath, but with that same charming smile that made her heart skip a beat.

"Hey, how's practice going?" she typed, her smile widening.

"Hey! It's going well, just taking a quick break. How's work?" came his reply almost instantly.

Mina glanced around the empty shop and chuckled softly. "It's really slow today, barely any customers. Gives me more time to think about you though."

Minho's response was swift. "I can't stop thinking about you either. I wish I could be there with you."

Mina's heart ached a little, knowing he was almost 2 hours away in another city. "I know, I miss you too. But we'll see each other soon."

"Definitely. Just a few more days," he replied, adding a heart emoji that made Mina's smile grow even wider.

As she sent her response, she couldn't help but feel a wave of happiness wash over her. Even in the quiet moments at work, Minho's presence in her life made everything feel brighter.

The sound of the bell of the door chimes catching Mina's attention, and she looks up, her smile fading as she sees who walked inside. She stands, her heart pounding in her chest as she tries to stay calm as he gets closer to the counter. She opens her mouth to speak, but her voice gets caught in her throat. The man in front of her from her past was the man that had destroyed her mind and body. Yet he smiles at her, the sight making her stomach twist into knots and making her nauseous.

Mina's mind raced, memories flooding back in an instant. She remembered the nights filled with fear, the days she spent trying to piece herself back together. Her hands trembled slightly as she gripped the edge of the counter, trying to ground herself in the present moment.

"Hello, Mina," he said, his voice smooth and sickeningly familiar. "It's been a long time."

Mina swallowed hard, forcing herself to meet his gaze. "What are you doing here?" she managed to ask, her voice barely above a whisper.

He chuckled, a sound that sent chills down her spine. "I was just passing by and thought I'd drop in. Didn't know you worked here. So how are you doing."

"I'm fine," she lied, her voice trembling. "You should go."

He leaned on the counter, his eyes never leaving hers. "Come on, Mina. Is that any way to treat an old friend?"

"We're not friends," she snapped, her fear momentarily giving way to anger. "You need to leave. Now."

He looked her up and down, his eyes roaming her body. "Well, it's nice to see you again. You still look good."

Mina's stomach twisted at his compliment. "I need you to leave," she said, her voice firm despite the tremor in her hands.

His smile faded slightly, and for a moment, Mina saw a flicker of something dark in his eyes. But then the smile returned, even broader than before. "Alright, alright. I'm leaving. But remember, Mina, you can't run from your past forever."

With that, he turned and walked out of the shop, the bell chiming again as the door closed behind him. Mina quickly made her way to the employee's back room, her legs feeling like jelly. She slid down the wall, bringing her knees to her chest. Her body shook uncontrollably as she tried to steady her breathing. She wanted to call Minho, to hear his voice, to keep herself from relapsing. But even as she reached for her phone, she couldn't shake the feeling that her past was far from over.

When Mina's shift finally ended, she could barely hold herself together. Her hands were still shaking as she clocked out, and the walk home felt like an eternity. Each step was heavy, her mind replaying the encounter over and over again. She took a long, deep inhale from her vape, feeling the nicotine fill her lungs. The sensation was almost comforting, a temporary escape from the chaos in her mind. As she exhaled, the cloud of vapor dissipated into the air, and for a moment, she felt calm. By the time she reached her front door, her body was numb, and all she wanted was to escape the nightmare that had resurfaced.

She entered her bedroom and immediately locked the door behind her, as if the simple act could somehow keep the past at bay. Her breathing was shallow, and she felt like she was suffocating. She needed to feel something else, anything else, to drown out the overwhelming fear and anxiety.

Mina walked into her bathroom, her eyes scanning the room until they landed on the cabinet under the sink. She hesitated for a moment, her mind screaming at her to stop, but the urge was too strong. She opened the cabinet and pulled out a small bag she had hidden away and sworn never to touch again.

Turning on the shower, she let the water run hot, the steam quickly filling the room. The sound of the water was almost soothing, a stark contrast to the turmoil inside her. She sank to the floor, her back against the cool shower door, and began to remove her jeans, her hands trembling.

⚠️ SELF HARM SCENE⚠️

Holding the blade in her hand, she pressed it to her left hip, the familiar sting piercing her skin. The pain was sharp and immediate, but it brought a strange sense of relief. Her mind went blank, the chaos silenced for just a moment. Tears streamed down her face, mingling with the steam and the sweat on her skin. She felt a release, a way to control the uncontrollable, even if just for a fleeting moment.

As the water continued to pour, Mina sat there, her body shaking with silent sobs. She knew this wasn't the answer, but right now, it was the only way she could cope. The steam enveloped her, and for a brief moment, she felt like she could breathe again, even as the tears kept falling.
