Lee Know POV
The members finished up dance practice and were now in the company SUV on the way back to the dorm. Despite the chatter and laughter around him, Minho's mind kept drifting to Mina.
Picking up his phone, he sent a message. "Hey Mina, how's the new apartment? Settling in okay?"
A few moments later, his phone buzzed. "Hey Minho, it's going well. Still getting things organized, but it's starting to feel like home."
"That's great to hear," he replied, feeling a bit more at ease. "I'd love to come by and check it out sometime, if that's okay with you."
"Sure, that sounds nice," Mina responded. "How about later today?"
"Perfect, see you then," Minho typed back, a small smile forming on his lips.
Later that day, Minho found himself standing outside Mina's apartment, a small gift in hand. He took a deep breath and knocked on the door. Mina opened it, smiling at him.
"Hey, Minho. Come on in," she said softly, stepping aside to let him enter.
"Hey, Mina. Congrats on the new place," Minho said as he stepped inside.
Mina's eyes showed a quiet appreciation. "Thanks, Minho. It's good to see you."
As she gave him a quick tour of her apartment, they chatted about her new neighborhood and the process of moving in. Minho admired how she had already made the place feel cozy and welcoming.
They eventually settled in the living room, sipping on the coffee Mina had brewed. Minho felt a sense of ease wash over him, enjoying the simple pleasure of her company. He kept the conversation light and engaging, not wanting to rush anything.
"You've done a great job with the place, Mina. It really suits you," Minho said, genuinely impressed.
"Thanks, Minho. I'm glad you like it," Mina replied, her smile making his heart flutter.
As the afternoon turned into evening, they continued to talk and laugh, both appreciating the time spent together. Minho knew he had to take things slow, but he was grateful for moments like these.
Minho stood up, stretching slightly. "Hey, Mina, where's your restroom again?"
Mina looked up from her seat and pointed down the hall. "It's just down the hall, first door on the left."
"Got it, thanks," Minho replied, heading in the direction she indicated.
Mina POV
Mina had been scrolling through her phone when she stumbled upon an old photo album. It was filled with pictures of her and her ex-best friend, laughing and making memories together. The memories came flooding back, and with them, a wave of anxiety and fear.
Minho walked into the room, noticing the change in her demeanor immediately. "Hey, what's wrong?" he asked, concern etched on his face.
Mina quickly locked her phone and tried to brush it off. "Nothing, it's just... nothing."
But Minho wasn't convinced. He sat down next to her, gently taking her hand. "Mina, you know you can talk to me. What's going on?"
She pulled her hand away, standing up abruptly. "It's just... seeing these pictures reminded me of how things can change so quickly. One moment everything is perfect, and the next, it's all gone."
Minho stood up too, trying to understand. "Who is that?" He looked at the pictures of her and some guy on her phone screen.
Mina's voice began to rise, her emotions getting the better of her. "My ex-bestfriend... I opened up to him and he... Left me abandoned me."
Minho's expression softened, and he gently said, "I'm so sorry you went through that, Mina. But I'm not like him. I promise you, I'm here to stay."
Mina's voice trembled with a mix of anger and pain. "You don't understand, Minho! Everyone says they won't leave, but they always do. They always find a reason to walk away."
Minho took a deep breath, trying to keep his own emotions in check. "Mina, I'm not them. I'm right here, standing in front of you. I haven't run away, and I don't plan to. Why can't you see that?"
She shook her head, tears streaming down her face. "Because I've heard it all before! Words don't mean anything when actions always prove otherwise."
Minho's jaw clenched, his eyes softening as he reached out to gently cup her face. "Look at me, Mina. I'm not going anywhere. I know you're scared, and I know you've been hurt, but I'm not them. I'll stay, no matter what."
Mina's eyes searched his, looking for the reassurance she desperately needed. "How can I trust that, Minho? How can I believe you won't just leave like everyone else?"
Frustration started to seep into Minho's voice as he leaned in, his forehead resting against hers. "I'll spend every day proving that to you, if that's what it takes. Just let me in, let me show you that I'm here for the long haul."
She closed her eyes, taking in his words, feeling the sincerity in his voice. "I want to believe you, Minho. I really do. But it's so hard.. How can I believe that you are different?"
Minho's grip on her face tightened just a fraction, his voice increasing in volume. "Because I love you!"
