It had been a few weeks since the housewarming party, and Mya and Jaylen had finally settled into their new home. Every day, the place felt more like theirs—the rooms filled with their things, their laughter, and the quiet moments they shared. But as the excitement of moving started to fade, the reality of what came next settled in. Mya knew they were standing on the edge of big changes, and it was both thrilling and overwhelming.

One crisp Saturday morning, Mya found herself sittin' at the kitchen table, her planner spread out in front of her. She was tryin' to juggle client meetings, her work with Melody's cafe, and the upcoming launch of a new project she'd been workin' on for weeks. But her mind kept driftin' back to the conversation she'd had with Jaylen after the housewarming—about family, about the future.

She hadn't told anyone yet, not even Layla, but lately she'd been feelin' different. She wasn't sure if it was just stress or somethin' else, but she couldn't shake the thought that maybe, just maybe, they were already on their way to startin' a family.

Jaylen walked into the kitchen, still rubbin' his eyes from sleep. "Morning, baby," he said, kissin' her on the top of her head before grabbin' a mug for his coffee. "You lookin' deep in thought."

Mya smiled, tryin' to shake off her worries. "Just goin' over my schedule for the week. I got a lot comin' up."

Jaylen poured his coffee and sat down across from her, lookin' at her with that familiar, calm energy that always put her at ease. "You good? You seem a little off today."

Mya hesitated for a second, tryin' to decide if now was the right time to say what had been on her mind. But then she remembered the promise they'd made to each other—to be honest, to face everything together.

"Actually," Mya started, her voice soft, "I been feelin' kinda weird lately. I don't know if it's just stress or somethin' else, but... I'm thinkin' maybe I should take a pregnancy test."

Jaylen's eyes widened slightly, but he kept his cool, his expression shiftin' from surprise to quiet excitement. "You think you might be...?"

Mya shrugged, feelin' a mix of emotions. "I don't know. I mean, it's possible. We've been talkin' about startin' a family, but I wasn't expectin' it to happen so soon."

Jaylen reached across the table, takin' her hand in his. "You wanna go take one? Just to see?"

Mya nodded, feelin' a knot of nerves tighten in her stomach. "Yeah, I think I do."

A few minutes later, Mya was in the bathroom, starin' at the test in her hand. Jaylen stood just outside the door, givin' her space but still close enough to be there when she needed him. Mya's heart was poundin' in her chest, and she could barely breathe as she waited for the result.

When the time came, Mya looked down at the test, her breath catchin' in her throat.

Two lines.

She blinked, her heart racin'. She wasn't dreamin'. She wasn't imaginin' it.

She was pregnant.

Mya stepped out of the bathroom, her hands shakin' slightly as she held the test. Jaylen looked at her, his eyes searchin' hers for an answer.

"Well?" he asked, his voice calm but full of anticipation.

Mya held up the test, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'm pregnant."

For a second, there was complete silence. Jaylen stared at her, his eyes wide with shock, before breakin' into the biggest grin Mya had ever seen. He crossed the room in two quick strides, pullin' her into his arms and liftin' her off the ground.

"Baby, we did it! We're havin' a baby!" Jaylen said, laughin' as he spun her around.

Mya laughed too, feelin' the rush of emotions wash over her. She couldn't believe it. They were really startin' a family.

As Jaylen set her back down, his hands still on her waist, Mya looked up at him, her eyes filled with tears of joy. "I can't believe it," she whispered. "We're really doin' this."

Jaylen kissed her softly, his voice full of love and pride. "Yeah, we are. And we gon' be the best parents. I already know it."

Mya smiled, her heart swellin' with happiness. She had no idea what the next few months would bring, but she knew one thing for sure—she and Jaylen were in this together, no matter what.

Later that day, after the initial excitement had settled a little, Mya found herself sittin' on the couch, her mind racin' with all the things she needed to do. The pregnancy was still so new, but already, her life was startin' to shift. She knew she had to figure out how to balance it all—her business, the baby, and her relationship with Jaylen.

Jaylen sat down next to her, wrappin' his arm around her shoulders. "You thinkin' about what comes next, huh?"

Mya nodded, leanin' into him. "Yeah. I'm excited, but I'm also a little nervous. There's so much to plan, so much to think about."

Jaylen kissed her temple, his voice steady. "We don't gotta figure it all out right now. We'll take it one day at a time. You got me, and I got you. We gon' be alright."

Mya smiled, feelin' reassured by his words. He was right. They didn't have to have all the answers yet. They just had to trust each other and face whatever came their way together.

"I know," Mya said softly. "We got this."

As the day went on, Mya found herself feelin' more at peace. There was still a lot to figure out, but she wasn't alone. She had Jaylen, and they were about to start the most excitin' chapter of their lives.

That evenin', they sat down together, plannin' how they'd tell their family and friends the big news. Mya couldn't wait to see Layla's reaction—she already knew her best friend would lose her mind when she found out. But for now, Mya was content to keep the moment between her and Jaylen, just enjoyin' the quiet excitement of what was to come.

As they curled up on the couch, talkin' about the future and all the changes it would bring, Mya felt a deep sense of gratitude. This was everything she'd ever wanted. And with Jaylen by her side, she knew they could handle anything.

They were buildin' somethin' real, somethin' beautiful. And Mya couldn't wait to see what came next.
