Niki descended the stairs, adjusting his collar and shirt sleeves, his expression composed.
Jin-Ho leaned against the wall, arms crossed.
"Who is she?" Jin-Ho asked, raising an eyebrow.
Niki paused, his gaze meeting Jin-Ho's.
"None of your concern," Niki replied, voice even.
Jin-Ho chuckled.
"You ignored me because of her," Jin-Ho stated.
Niki's eyes narrowed.
"Business and personal life are separate," Niki said.
Jin-Ho's grin widened.
"Since when do you get possessive?"
Niki's jaw clenched.
"Drop it, Jin-Ho."
Jin-Ho's grin persisted. "You're usually cool-headed, Niki. What's so special about her?"
Niki's eyes turned icy. "Why was she sleeping on your lap?"
Jin-Ho shrugged. "We watched a horror movie. She got scared."
Niki's voice dropped. "Did you do something wrong with her?"
Jin-Ho's smile vanished. "Of course not! I'm not that kind of guy."
Niki's skeptical gaze lingered.
"Nothing happened," Jin-Ho reassured. "She fell asleep. That's all."
Niki's expression remained unreadable.
Niki's eyes still held a hint of suspicion.
"Why did you come here today?" Niki asked.
Jin-Ho shrugged. "Just dropped by to hang out."
"Su Hyang's different," Jin-Ho said. "She's genuine, kind...and beautiful."
Niki's gaze intensified.
"You interested in her?" Niki asked.
Jin-Ho hesitated.
"I care about her," Jin-Ho admitted. "But not romantically."
Niki's expression softened slightly.
"Why do you care?" Niki asked.
"Su Hyang's been through tough times," Jin-Ho said. "She deserves happiness."
Niki's eyes narrowed.
"Why do you think I'm interested in Su Hyang?" Niki asked.
Jin-Ho smirked.
"Your caveman act upstairs was a giveaway."
Niki's expression turned stoic.
"I just want to ensure she's safe," Niki said.
Jin-Ho raised an eyebrow.
"From me?"
Niki nodded.
Jin-Ho chuckled.
"You know me better than that, Niki."
Niki's eyes narrowed.
"I know you're charming and unpredictable."
Jin-Ho grinned.
Niki's face remained serious.
"Su Hyang's...different," Niki said. "I don't want her hurt."
Su Hyang descended the stairs, rubbing her eyes.
She halted, noticing Niki and Jin-Ho sitting together.
