Aiden rose from his bed, the early dawn light filtering through the wooden windows of the dojo. His muscles were sore from days of training, but the determination in his heart was stronger than ever. After a quick wash and a bite of simple breakfast, he stepped outside. The crisp morning air filled his lungs as he made his way toward the dense forest that lay just beyond the dojo.

This forest wasn’t just a random place. It was special. A place Yui had shown him during one of their walks. His mind drifted back to the first time she took him there, her words still fresh in his memory.

---

*Flashback*

They had walked together, the canopy of the trees forming a natural tunnel as they ventured deeper into the wilderness. Yui had paused in a small clearing, her eyes wistful and full of memories.

"This is where I trained with my father," she had said softly, her fingers gently brushing the leaves of a low-hanging branch. Aiden had noticed the weight in her words, a mixture of pride and sadness.

"He was the one who showed me how to balance my forms here. Fire and water. Strength and adaptability. This place... it holds everything I learned from him. It’s where I come when I need to think or train seriously. It’s a part of me," Yui had explained, her voice growing quieter, as if speaking too loudly would disturb the presence of her father still lingering in the air.

Aiden hadn’t said much. He could see how much this place meant to her, how deeply tied it was to her past. He simply nodded, appreciating the quiet reverence she held for this space. Yui had smiled at him, a soft and brief smile, but one that showed her trust in him to be there with her.

---

As Aiden stood in that same clearing now, he could feel the weight of that memory, and the significance of the place. He began to move, letting his body settle into the familiar patterns of the forms Yui had shown him. Fire for power, water for flow. Each stance, each punch, and each kick was a homage to the elements.

Four days later.

Third Person POV.

The sound of rapid footsteps echoed through the trees, leaves rustling as someone approached the clearing. Yui was running, her breath quick, her eyes searching for the familiar figure. She had heard from the others that Aiden hadn’t been seen much around the dojo lately, and she knew exactly where he would be.

She broke through the line of trees and came upon the clearing. There he was, standing in the center, sweat dripping down his face and arms, his chest heaving from exertion.

Yui POV.

*Has he been here for five days straight?* Yui wondered to herself. The sight of Aiden, still focused, still pushing himself, brought a small sense of admiration to her.

"Hey!" she called out, her voice cutting through the silence.

General POV.

Aiden instantly recognized the voice. "Yes, Yui," he replied, turning to face her.

"You’ve been here all five days training, haven’t you?" Yui asked as she approached him, her brow furrowed with concern.

"Yeah," Aiden responded, wiping the sweat from his face with the back of his hand. "I did what I wanted to do."

"Okay then," Yui said with a faint smile. "Show me."

Scene Change.

Aiden lay on the ground, gasping for air, his body completely drained from the sparring session. Yui stood over him, arms crossed, her expression one of mild disbelief.
