MEGAN THEE STALLION."Right, the wings are finished," Megan announced, dusting her hands on her apron as she set the trays of wings on the table. Different flavors—barbecue, lemon pepper, spicy honey—spread across the table like a feast. Normani reached for one before Megan could even step back.
"Shit!" Normani yelped, pulling her hand back quickly after burning her finger on a hot wing. She instinctively brought her finger up to her lips, glaring at Megan.
Megan started laughing, the sound filling the spacious kitchen. "You looking at me like I did it!" she said, her grin wide as she slipped the apron over her head and tossed it onto the counter.
"Anyways, who all comin' over here tonight?" Megan asked, opening the fridge and grabbing a water bottle. She cracked it open, leaning against the counter as Normani scrolled through her phone.
Normani, still nursing her slightly burnt finger, squinted at her notes app. "Alright, we got Chloe and Halle, Teyana—"
"Whew, her fine ass," Megan cut in, eyes gleaming as she teased.
Normani shot her a deadpan look. "Can you not?" she asked with a sigh.
Megan raised her hands in mock innocence. "My bad. Continue."
Rolling her eyes, Normani continued, "Okay, Teyana, Kehlani andddddd Victoria—"
"Hell no!" Megan exclaimed, her tone sharp and immediate as she shook her head fiercely. "Nope. No thanks."
Normani raised an eyebrow, clearly annoyed but curious. "Girl, what is your problem with Victoria?"
It was the million-dollar question. Normani had heard bits and pieces about the tension between Megan and Victoria, but the root of it? Still a mystery. Whenever the two were in the same space, the air got thick with tension and it was entertaining—at least to anyone watching from the outside. But Normani couldn't help but think there had to be something more.
Megan crossed her arms, her expression darkening. "I just hate her. And that soft-ass voice she's got."
Normani's lips parted in disbelief. "Not her voice! I think her voice is cute," she said, defending Victoria in that moment. Her voice was soft, sure, but Normani found it soothing, like velvet.
Megan shook her head, pointing her finger at Normani like she was trying to warn her off. "And that's where she gets you! She uses that little Janet Jackson voice to lure you in, and then—" Megan paused for dramatic effect, her eyes narrowing, "—she sucks the life outta you. Literally. I know about hoes like her."
Normani couldn't help but chuckle. Megan was clearly exaggerating, but the disdain was real. Before she could reply, the doorbell rang, cutting through the air. Normani shot Megan a look before walking over to the door.
