''So what do you want to wear to the party? Pants? A dress? Shorts?'' Mom asked as we walked arm in arm in the mall. ''I think I am going for pants and a crop top.'' ''Good choice.'' We went into a few stores. I finally found my outfit Black ripped skinny jeans and a red and white crop top. Mom insisted on also buying me the black denim jacket, in case it will be cold at night.

''Lets get some smoothies. My treat.'' I was happy that I could finally treat my mother for once. ''Okay.'' I got a strawberry banana smoothie and mom got a mango and pineapple smoothie. We were walking to the car.

''Baby look out.'' My mom jumped in front of me. A car hit her and me against my leg. My mom on the other hand went flying over the hood of the vehicle. ''Mom. Mom.'' I crawled to her since my leg wouldn't work with me. ''Baby.'' She tried getting up, but gave up wincing in pain.

''Are you okay?'' ''Mom I'm fine please don't move.'' I held her hand. I felt helpless. ''Mommy please.'' ''B-baby. I love you so so much.'' ''No no no.'' I know what she was doing. ''I love you to mom.''

Suddenly Chimney was at my side. ''Sofia?'' ''My mom help her. You need to save her.'' He stood up and then dad came running towards us. ''Sofia?'' ''Shannon.'' He said getting on his knees besides us. ''Sofia I need to check out you injuries.'' Hen said.

''No I am not leaving her.'' I pushed away her hands. ''Hey.'' Mom said to dad fighting to stay awake. ''Are you here? Where is Sofia?'' ''I'm here. Sofia is here.'' ''I'm here mom.'' I said tears streaming down my face.

''Oh, god.'' ''This is so embarrassing.'' It seemed like she wasn't really with us; her mind seemed way further. ''Vitals turning downward.'' Hen said. ''All right. Let's get her on the backboard. Get her transported now.'' Chimney said.

Dad and mom shared a knowing look. When they lifted her up off the ground there was a big puddle of blood where her head was previously laying. Dad lifted me up and carried me in the ambulance. My dad and I both held mom's hand.

''She is decompensating. We have got to intubate her.'' ''Eddie, we put that tube in. It's a good chance it never comes back out.'' ''Oh god.'' I said crying even louder. ''Hen stop do not intubate.'' Chimney said. I can't lose my mom. Not again.

''I don't feel anything.'' Dad started crying too. My head started to hurt really bad. ''That can't be good, right?'' She was dying. I didn't want to believe it, but she was. And there was nothing we could do to save her. Besides holding her hand telling her that we love her.

''Leaving again. I am so sorry.'' She said crying. ''Mommy, I don't blame you. I am not mad. Please.'' ''I'd love a little more time.'' ''Just be silent.'' Dad was trying to keep it together. ''God, I love you so much.'' ''Christopher loves you so much.'' ''Sofia loves you so much.''

''I- I love y-you three.'' She was trying to gasp for air. It was the most horrifying sound I have ever heard. Suddenly the machine flatlined. ''No mommy.'' I said curling into dad's side. ''Hen, go.'' ''Intubating.'' They intubated mom as me and dad held each other tight both being unable to move.

The only thing keeping me from blacking out was the pain in my leg and head. They brought mom into the hospital. Still not breathing. ''Let me examine you please.'' Chimney said crouching in front of me. I felt numb. I couldn't move.

''Let me see mom.'' Dad carried me and we went into the room where she was lying dead. My mom was dead. When both held her hand for a while and then dad carried me into a room where a few doctors examined me. ''You have a dislocated knee cap. This will hurt.'' Everything was a blur.

They pushed my knee cap back. It hurt, but not as bad as losing your mom while it should have been you. Again. They put a brace on my leg from my upper tight to my ankle and gave me crutches. They also told me I had a really bad concussion and if my vision started going blurry or if my neck started to hurtI had to come back.

Dad was handed the clothes mom was wearing in a bag. He also got the to baggs we got while shopping. There was blood over everything. I felt nothing. Empty unable to cry or talk just tare. It was like I was seeing my self from above.

The whole 118 team was waiting in the waiting room. Bobby walked in and dad hugged him tight, while I clung onto Buck for dear life. The only thing going in my mind was how are we going to tell Chris, he didn't even get to say goodbye.

I sat in the car while dad walked to Chris who was waiting outside Abuela's house. Dad told Chris and they were all crying. Chris hold on to dad very tight. I was only able to stare.

He picked Chris up and put him in the car. We drove home. The whole ride I just hoped I would wake up and this would all be some sick nightmare, but I didn't. I never woke up.
