Alessia's pov
"And hit one, two, three and four." Erin counts

Right now I'm currently working on my solo for the competition this weekend. I also have a duet with a boy, a trio with two girls that I'm super close with now and a group dance. A lot, I know. But it's not anymore than I used to have with my old dance teacher. Plus I've had almost a month to work on all four dances

My solo is called "It's All Coming Back" and it's contemporary. It's pretty much about my love for dance coming back to me now that I've taken time away from Abby and stuff

For my duet, I'm dancing with a boy. His name is Anthony, and he's a great dancer. Our duet is called "Say Something" and it's lyrical. I'm super excited for it

Then my trio. My trio is with two girls, Maggie and Ryan. I love the trio so much, especially because Maggie and Ryan are probably the two dancers I'm closest with at the studio. Our trio is jazz and it's called "Maneater". The name is a long story

Originally, the three of us were going to have a lyrical solo, we learned the whole thing and perfected it in two weeks. But then, Erin learned that we were competing in the same competition that the ALDC was. And since I did a duet called Maneater at the ALDC, Erin changed the entire trio to kind of dig at them. So we've been learning the new trio all week

I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous to compete again with my old dance teacher watching. She'll probably have stuff to say, I mean, she always has stuff to say no matter what. Im just gonna let her talk, she can say what she wants, I won't let it affect me.

Then, finally, we have a huge group dance. At least 16 girls are in it, I'm not entirely sure. It's called "Praying" and it's probably the hardest, yet most gorgeous dance I've ever been in. I've also never been in a routine with this many girls, so it should be fun

"Fantastic job, Ale. I'm so, so proud of you, hunny." Erin hugs me after my solo rehearsal. "Okay, take a breather and then come back in here in 10 minutes with Maggie and Ryan"

"Okay, thank you" I smile before walking out and going to where my mom is talking with some of the other moms. I grab my water and start to drink it

"How's your solo going, Ale?" Debbie, Maggie's mom asks

"It's good. It's hard, but good" I respond

"Remember, we all got your back this weekend. Te be honest, none of us like Abby" Debbie tells me and we laugh. A few minutes later, I find Maggie and Ryan and the three of us go to the main studio to work on our trio with Erin

"Stronger! Make your moves sharper and stronger!" Erin yells. "You guys have to be more in sync. Let's go!"

Saturday
Day of Competition

It's competition day! Ooh, that feels so weird to say. I'm super excited though. My first competition in almost three years.

"Good morning!" Erin cheers as we all arrive at MDP. We'd be all getting on a bus so we can arrive at the competition together

I groan as I step onto the bus after putting away my bags. I take a seat next to Harper, one of the girls in the group dance

"Hey, Ale" Harper smiles as I rest my head on her shoulder
