(this is teen titans go aqualad not young justice aqualad because he deserves no shit the young justice version)also PTSD warning if you've been abused and or been in a toxic relationship

I had just come home from a night I couldn't even call a date. My "boyfriend" had taken me to a secluded place to hang out, where the atmosphere felt heavy with his intentions. When he asked if we could kiss, I felt a knot form in my stomach and replied no. In response, he forced himself on me, his grip like iron. I struggled to push him away, but he retaliated, hitting me after I resisted. I don’t know why I was still in this relationship. Every time he didn’t get his way, it was like flipping a switch—he would hit, kick, or punch me. If it left a bruise, he made me wear makeup to cover it up, as if the facade would make everything okay.

That night, when I got home, Damien was sitting on the couch, scrolling through his phone. I felt a wave of relief at his presence, but the weight of my secret hung heavily on me. What I didn’t realize was that I had forgotten to cover one of the bruises from tonight.

“Hey, Dami, what are you doing?” I asked, trying to sound casual as I took a seat next to him.

Damien looked up, his gaze sharp as he took in my appearance. “Nothing. How was your date?” he asked, the concern lacing his voice.

I paused, trying to find the words. “It was good. We went to the park,” I lied, forcing a smile that didn’t reach my eyes.

**Damien’s POV**

It was almost as if time had stopped. Raven hesitated for twenty seconds to reply, and I could sense something was off. She wasn’t as cheerful as usual, and her amethyst eyes looked dull and clouded. I’d known her long enough to recognize her body language like a book, but I brushed it aside, convincing myself it was just jealousy.

However, when she turned her back to me while heading to her bedroom, I caught a glimpse of a fist-shaped bruise on her shoulder. My heart sank like a stone in a deep lake. I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was terribly wrong.

**TIME SKIP**

**Nobody’s POV**

Raven was getting ready for another date when she realized that she hadn’t covered up the bruise. Cursing herself for being so careless, she hastily applied makeup to hide it. The mirror reflected her mixed emotions, but she tried to push them aside.

Damien was out on patrol that night, moving silently through the shadows, when he spotted Raven walking down the street toward a hill in the opposite direction of the park. A sense of unease crept over him, and he radioed the tower to let them know he’d be out a little longer before following her from a distance.

As he watched her approach the hill, his heart raced when he saw Aqualad waiting for her at the top. They exchanged words, and Damien felt a rush of jealousy as they leaned in to kiss each other. The sight twisted something inside him, but he shook it off, reminding himself that he had no claim on her.

But then, just as he was about to head back, he heard raised voices. His heart raced as he turned back to see Aqualad towering over Raven, yelling at her. Damien’s blood boiled; he knew couples fought, but this was different. He clenched his fists, watching helplessly as Aqualad’s demeanor shifted from anger to violence.

**Raven’s POV**

I tried to tell him to stop, but he wasn’t listening. Each blow felt like a dagger to my heart, and I could see the anger in his eyes, an uncontrollable rage that I could no longer endure. Just when I felt myself begin to collapse, I heard a rush of footsteps.

**Damien’s POV**

At that moment, something snapped inside me. I jumped from the rooftop, sprinting toward the hill as fury coursed through my veins. As soon as I reached Aqualad, I pounced, my fist connecting with his jaw. Raven was shocked, her wide eyes reflecting disbelief, but I didn’t care. All I could see was red as I beat the living hell out of Aqualad.

“YOU PIECE OF TRASH! HOW DARE YOU!” I yelled, my voice raw with anger as I kicked him. With every blow, I felt the weight of Raven’s pain fueling my rage. Aqualad was no longer recognizable, reduced to a bloody pulp. I didn’t stop until I saw him slump to the ground, unconscious.

Turning around, I saw Raven on her knees, tears streaming down her face. My heart broke at the sight. Without a second thought, I rushed to her side, kneeling beside her. “Raven,” I breathed, my voice softer now. “Are you okay?”

She wrapped her arms around me, pulling me close, her sobs shaking her frame. I held her tightly, my chin resting on top of her head. I could feel her warmth against my body, a stark contrast to the cold night air, and it made my heart ache. I ran my fingers through her hair, trying to soothe her, wishing I could take away her pain.

“I—I thought he was going to kill me,” she sobbed, her voice muffled against my chest. “I’m so scared, Damien. I didn’t know what to do.”

“I’m here now,” I whispered, my voice firm as I tried to instill some sense of safety in her. “You’re safe with me. He can’t hurt you anymore.”

As she calmed down, the moonlight illuminated her bruised skin, a reminder of the night’s horrors. But in that moment, I made a silent vow to protect her, to never let her feel that way again. We stayed like that for a while, wrapped in each other’s arms, as the weight of the world began to lift.

Finally, we stood, and I guided her home. The walk was quiet, but I could feel the tension slowly dissipating between us. Once inside, I turned to her, my voice steady. “You don’t have to date him. I want you to be happy, and I’ll do everything I can to help you.”

She looked up at me, her eyes glistening with gratitude. “You saved me tonight, Damien. I don’t know what I would have done without you.”

In that moment, everything changed. I leaned in closer, my heart racing. “You deserve someone who will treat you right, someone who will respect you,” I said, my voice barely a whisper. “Someone who loves you.”

“Like you?” she asked, a faint smile breaking through her tears.

“Exactly,” I replied, unable to hide the warmth spreading through my chest. I brushed my thumb across her cheek, and as I leaned in, our lips met softly, sealing a promise of protection and care. It wasn’t just a kiss; it was a vow—a commitment that from that moment forward, I would be the one to stand by her side, to fight for her, and to love her fiercely.

---

From that day on, Raven knew that she would never have to face her fears alone. Together, we would build a future free from pain, one filled with trust and unconditional love.
