Caitlyn's letter.

It had been a few months since Caitlyn last saw Vi.

She'd be lying to herself if she said she didn't miss her, but she knew she couldn't let that get in her way of the need to avenge her mother.

As far as Caitlyn could tell, Maddie hadn't caught on that night she dissapeared. What she could tell however, is that she noticed the sheriff start to distance herself.

"Cait..?" Maddie called from behind caitlyn at her desk.

"You've been at it for hours, don't you think you should take some time?" The girl kindly said.

"I can't, I know we're close. To jinx, to this new 'copycat'. There has to be something I'm not seeing" Caitlyn replied laying her head in her hands, exhausted.

Maddie had rested her hand on top of Caitlyn's "Your mother will have justice"

From time to time she had pictured Vi, not in the same way that Vi had pictured caitlyn, but still from time to time, she'd see someone walking with their hands in their pockets, hood raised. Or a tattoo that looked to be similar to Vi's. The only problem being; She felt guilty for sleeping with Vi.

She knew how it would affect Maddie. So she kept quiet. It wasn't a lie that she liked maddie, she just found Caitlyn at the right time. But, she couldn't deny that liking her was different from what she felt about vi.

She doesn't know what she feels about vi right now. Or at least that's what she thought. The truth is, her heart ached for vi. Which made her confused because genuinely she liked Maddie. But her heart said vi.

Vi however, didn't look back.

After yet another fight she for once wasn't drunk, instead at jericho's with ekko.

"Noticed piltie hasn't been back in awhile" Ekko stated looking towards Vi.

"Good" Vi just said bluntly.

"Good? Vi you hadn't talked to anyone since you got back until you talked to her." Ekko returned.

"It's not like we're married Ekko"

"I didn't say that you-, wait, you slept with her didn't you?"

"What?" Vi stopped in her tracks, but said it so casually that she genuinely sounded confused by Ekko's words.

"Did you sleep with her?"

"Damn Jinx has a big mouth huh" Vi went back to eating

"Jinx knows?!"

"Well I don't think she knows that we slept together. She just saw Caitlyn sleeping on my bed"

"So you did fuck her" Ekko nearly laughed.

"So what if I did? It was just sex ekko. Nothing more, nothing less."

"pssh you think I believe that?"

"I don't give a shit weather you believe it or not."

Vi finally turned to face Ekko

"Vi, you care about her"

"And? I learned. She's a piltie like you said, she doesn't deserve this. She doesn't deserve to be down in Zaun. I mean look at this place. As much as I love my home, sort of. Princess doesn't deserve to be down here."

Vi missed her sure, but she was trying to get over that. Until she found something.

It was after yet another fight, Vi was exhausted, bloody and part of her didn't want to do it anymore. But it was a way to get her agression out.

She went to her room where she found an envelope taped to her mirror, one with the kiramman symbol on the front.

Vi scoffed about to just toss it. But before she could, she could hear Caitlyn's voice in her ear. And against her better judgement, she opened it.

inside the envelope was a long letter. Before she read it, she smelled the paper. Just because caitlyn's scent lingered on it.

"Vi, it's not often that I find myself at a loss for words. But when it comes to you, I sometimes struggle to say exactly what i'm feeling. It's funny, really. I can command a room full of enforcers, write detailed reports, and handle political pressure, but when it comes to you, it's all a bit different. You have this way of making everything more intense-more vivid. I've never known anyone like you Vi. You're unpredictable, stubborn, and you drive me absolutely mad sometimes, but... you also bring out a part of me I didn't even know existed.

I've spent my whole life being the 'perfect' daughter, the responsible one, always in control, but with you, I feel like I can let go"

Vi was about halfway through the letter, when she felt her lip raise into a slight smile. But she stopped herself. She didn't want to admit that she felt 'peace' hearing caitlyn felt that way. But she continued reading.

"I can be me-not just 'piltover's perfect sheriff' but Caitlyn. You've taught me how to see the world through a different lens. Your fierce loyalty, your passion, your willingness to fight for the people you love. I know you think we're too different, that we come from two completely separate worlds, but what you don't see is that how much those differences could balance us.

You remind me to live, to take risks, to stop worrying so much about what's expected of me and instead focus on what i want. And although all we went through is really hard, and raw. What i want... is you. It hasn't always been easy, and I don't expect it to be. We both have scars, and we've have our fair share of moments where everything felt like it could fall apart. And I know you might not say it out loud, but I can see it in your eyes, you feel it too. I've faced a lot of challenges in my life, but none have been as rewarding as you. So here's to us, whatever this is, or was. If there even was an us, which I'd like to think there was. Just promise me one thing, if you'll allow it. Don't run. Not from this, not from us. I know I'm in no position to ask a promise of you. Since I myself have broken a promise to you. But if you'll allow it, please accept my promise.

With all my love,

-Caitlyn."

Although she would never allow herself to admit it, Vi felt a tear roll down her cheek. She hated that caitlyn caught the way she looked at her, the way she actually felt calm whenever she looked into the raven haired girls perfect blue eyes.

She quickly wiped her tear and went to put the letter away in a small box she kept under her bed.
In the box, there was her red jacket that she couldn't bare to look at anymore because it reminds her of caitlyn, her enforcer badge, and a small almost ruined, picture powder had drawn for her when they were younger. She placed the letter on top and slid the box back under her bed, next to her giant gauntlets.
