Today was a much-needed break from their hectic lives, and Jungkook and Taehyung had decided to spend the day together at the apartment. The sunlight streamed through the large windows, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere as they lounged on the couch, surrounded by the comfort of each other's presence.
"Okay, so let's talk about our honeymoon plans," Taehyung said, glancing over at Jungkook with a playful smile. He was excited to discuss their future, something that felt both thrilling and surreal.
Jungkook, however, was lost in his own thoughts, subconsciously tightening his hold on Taehyung. He wrapped his arms around Taehyung's waist, pulling him closer, as if afraid that he might disappear if he let go. Taehyung noticed the tension in Jungkook's body, a subtle shift in his demeanor that hinted at the underlying anxiety Jungkook had been struggling with lately.
"Hey," Taehyung said softly, leaning into Jungkook's embrace. "You okay? You seem a bit tense today." His voice was laced with concern, and he gently placed a hand over Jungkook's, squeezing it reassuringly.
Jungkook looked down, his brow furrowing slightly. "Yeah, just thinking about everything," he replied, though he couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had been lingering in his mind. The memory of Minho, the uneasiness of their relationship with his father, and the pressures of their futures seemed to weigh heavily on him.
Taehyung shifted, turning slightly to face Jungkook more directly. "You know you can talk to me, right?" he said, his voice softening. "Whatever it is, I'm here for you."
Jungkook nodded, forcing a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. "I know. I just... sometimes I feel overwhelmed, Tae. With everything going on—my dad, my work, and now with Minho hanging around. I just don't want anything to come between us."
Taehyung's heart ached at the vulnerability in Jungkook's voice. He understood how much pressure Jungkook put on himself, always wanting to protect their relationship and make everything right. "Nothing will come between us, Jungkook. I promise you that," Taehyung assured him, reaching up to cup Jungkook's cheek. "We're in this together. Always."
Jungkook took a deep breath, feeling a sense of calm wash over him as he gazed into Taehyung's eyes. The warmth and sincerity radiating from Taehyung made him feel a little lighter, and he couldn't help but lean into the touch.
"Okay," Jungkook finally said, a hint of relief in his voice. "So, about our honeymoon... I was thinking we could go somewhere tropical. Just the two of us, away from all the stress."
Taehyung's face brightened at the suggestion. "That sounds amazing! I've always wanted to go to a beach where we can just relax and enjoy each other's company. Maybe even try some water sports?"
Jungkook chuckled, his mood lifting as they dove into the discussion. "I can see you trying to surf and probably falling off the board within seconds."
"Hey! I'll have you know I have excellent balance!" Taehyung retorted playfully, nudging Jungkook with his shoulder.
As they exchanged playful banter and shared ideas for their honeymoon, Jungkook found himself loosening up. The more he spoke, the more he realized that being with Taehyung helped ground him. It was a reminder of what truly mattered—his love for Taehyung and the life they were building together.
But even in the lightness of the moment, the tension within Jungkook lingered, like a shadow that refused to fully dissipate. He couldn't shake the feeling that his past would continue to haunt him, but as long as he had Taehyung by his side, he was determined to face those challenges head-on.
Eventually, they fell into a comfortable silence, Taehyung leaning against Jungkook, who tightened his embrace instinctively. They sat like that for a while, enjoying the quiet, with Jungkook's heart slowly beginning to ease.
