After almost a week in the hospital, Jungkook finally returned to their apartment. The place felt strangely welcoming, filled with the scent of home, yet it also reminded him of everything he had been through. Taehyung was busy unpacking their suitcase, chatting excitedly about the things he wanted to do now that Jungkook was back. His cheerful energy filled the room, creating a sense of warmth and comfort.
"Did you remember to bring back the snacks I love? I'm starving!" Taehyung said, grinning as he rummaged through the suitcase.
Jungkook chuckled softly, watching Taehyung's enthusiasm. But as he saw Taehyung's fingers tugging at the zipper, he felt an overwhelming surge of affection. Jungkook stepped forward, gently stopping Taehyung's hands from moving.
"Hey," he said softly, cupping Taehyung's face with his hands.
Taehyung looked up, surprise dancing in his eyes before Jungkook leaned in and kissed him tenderly. It was a sweet and soft moment, filled with relief and love, a silent promise that they were in this together.
As he pulled away, Jungkook kept his gaze locked on Taehyung's, his expression turning serious. "I want to talk to you about something."
Taehyung furrowed his brows slightly, sensing the shift in the atmosphere. "What is it?"
"I want to go for counseling," Jungkook confessed, his voice steady but laced with vulnerability. "I think it'll help me... us. I want to work through everything that's happened. I don't want to keep hurting you or myself."
Taehyung's heart swelled with emotion. "You're serious?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
Jungkook nodded, determination shining in his eyes. "I am. I want to understand what's been going on in my head and how to cope with it. I want to be better for you, for us."
Tears pricked at the corners of Taehyung's eyes, but this time they were tears of relief and hope. "Jungkook, that's really brave of you," he said, his voice thick with emotion. "I'll support you every step of the way."
Jungkook smiled, his heart feeling lighter. "Thank you, Taehyung. I know this won't be easy, but I want to try. For you and for our future."
Taehyung stepped forward and wrapped his arms around Jungkook, pulling him into a tight embrace. "We'll get through this together. I promise I'll be right by your side," he whispered, feeling the weight of the world lift slightly off their shoulders.
As they stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, Jungkook felt a renewed sense of hope. He knew the road ahead would be challenging, but with Taehyung by his side, he was ready to face anything.
As the evening settled in, the comforting aroma of dinner filled the apartment. Jimin had come over to help Taehyung prepare a meal, his cheerful demeanor bringing a lightness to the atmosphere. Jungkook, still adjusting to being back home, was seated on the couch, chatting with Yoongi.
"So, how are you feeling?" Yoongi asked, a genuine concern in his tone.
Jungkook sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Honestly? It's been a rollercoaster. But being home with Taehyung helps a lot."
"Good to hear," Yoongi replied, leaning back in his chair. "Just make sure to take care of yourself, okay? We all care about you."
Jungkook nodded, appreciating the support. Just then, the kitchen filled with laughter as Jimin and Taehyung playfully bickered over who was chopping the vegetables correctly. The sound warmed Jungkook's heart, reminding him of the joy in their little family.
In a quieter moment, Yoongi hesitated before speaking up. "By the way, have you heard about Taehyung getting an offer from a big agency in America?"
Jungkook froze, a wave of confusion washing over him. "What? No, I didn't know that," he replied, trying to process the information. "But I can see why he wouldn't tell me."
