Jordyn's pov
So Marshall and I went to Manhattan KS and found an apartment. I got a job at a burger shack in Aggieville valled The Cozy Inn. I always get phone duty and have to tell people all day that this was a restaurant not a hotel. I wonder how the others are doing.
Izy's povSo things wet down hill once Jordyn left. Apparently it's high expectation for a nineteen year old, that was supposed to lead the others, to lead and do her job. My bad. Lizzy, Kyla, and I decided to try to convince Jordyn to come back. With one of the two demigods healthy considering Charlotte decided she wanted a trip to the hospital. Yes she works there but I'm sure getting run over by 2 children in their grandparent's wheelchair didn't feel good. Briannna decided to come along with us on our journey. We brought Mickey and Zach along with for Jordyn to look after because with all the attacks going on, those two are the most important and believe it or not, the most powerful. Zachary because of his healing powers and Mikey because he'll be the future leader and he is the prodigy. Or something like that. He has an untold power comes within days of a certain amount of kindness given to him and that he's shown to others. This power is either going to destroy humanity because of its, well, power or, it will give unmeasurable amounts of Wisdom, perseverance, and knowledge. It's called Attila.
Kyla's pov
"So how do we find where Jordyn is anyway?" I asked.
"I know where she is. Or at least the town. Manhattan. Her hometown." Lizzy said.
"I've always wanted to go to Manhattan. But I would've never guessed that about her. Always thought Jordyn was more of a small town girl. But the Big Apple." I replied.
"Jordyn doesn't like large cities like NYC. I'm talking about the Little Apple. Manhattan KS." It all made sense. She always loved it there and she cried when we drove through the town. She always tried so hard to hide it. Keeping her eyes closed to trap the tears or, staring out the window to hide her face even though we saw her reflection and my favorite of all, reading a book, playing on her tablet, anything she can do to distract her from the scenery. The trip was long and when we got to Manhattan we didn't know where to go from there.
"Phone book? It has their first and last name. And adress. It would be a start." Izy suggested.
"Yeah and there we go to their place and have them watch over these two. I know Jordyn will take care of them with glee." I pointed out telling the truth. So we did that and found out where they lived and went to the apartment.
"Hey guys, what are you doing here?" Jordyn asked. "I was just heading out. I'm going on a hiking trip over the weekend."
"Well, with all the attacks going on gods are dying left and right. There are only 4 left. Marianne, Mikey, Zach, and Heilia. We were hoping that you would watch these two. And also since when do you hike?" I asked.
"Yeah I'll watch these two rascals. You guys want to come on my trip with me? I'm going camping in a cave."
"Cool. I'm game."
"Me too." Lizzy said.
"Count me in." Izy stated with joy. So the mountain that the cave was in, was too steep to climb. Izy had vines to lift us to the top while Jordyn flew up there in 10 seconds flat. I bet that she couldn't and lost a dollar.
The cave was pretty cool and once the four of us, Jordyn, Izy, Lizzy, and I, were all in the cave our jewelry started glowing a faint yellow gold.
"Whats going on?" I asked.
"I don't know. The only reason I picked this cave was no one knew anything about it." Jordyn replied. The morw we walked to the right corner the jewelry glowed brighter until the jewels themselves opened up like a locket would. Each one had a small piece of a metal key inside. They all fit together perfectly to form the key. Looking all over for a door hours on end, makes you hungry, bored, and tired.
"Hey guys I found the door!" Mickey and Brianna yelled. There was a fake rock that reminded me of the bookshelves that spin and lead to a secret passageway in a lot of older movies. Behind the rock was a thick steel door. Thwre wasn't a key hole but a scanner.
"Someone doesn't want us here. Come on open the door." Jordyn said as I swiped the key across the scanner. There were about 25 locks that opened. The door was about a foot thick and heavy like nobody's business. Opening the door was a pain but it had revealed a laboratory. Walking around we saw a surveillance system watching everyone of the gods, and demigods. The steel walls were charred as if an explosion went off. In one room a circle like symbol was on the wall. There was a rombus inside of the circle with a flame on the top right side of the rombus, a leaf on the bottom right side, a cloud on the bottom left, a lizard's tail on the bottom and a water droplet on the top left side. In the middle there was only an eye. Under the eye in a language that wasn't like anything I've ever seen before it read 'Attila'. In the same language under each element it read the name of the element underneath it. And under the lizard tail it read 'Regeneration'.
"Hey I found a journal and some DVD sets over here." Zach said walking over to the super computer and putting in the first disc. There was a girl with white hair, glasses and a lab coat.
"Hello. My name is Attila. Project Omega is here. We have created super humans that we will raise for them to believe they're gods. Subject 1, and Subject 2 are the first tests we have. After the Greek gods we have named 1 Zeus and 2 Hades. They're my sons and I couldn't be more proud of them considering that they are only a day old. The day of their birth we started tge expirement. This is week one and so far they've grown quickly. Hades is a little further ahead than Zeus. While Zeus is just learning how to talk and walk, Hades is talking, solving puzzles, and walking. The two are helping each other escape this facility, I don't think that the two will ever succeed." Attila said.
"So we're just science expirements?" Zach asked me. He, and Mikey both had tears down their face.
"I think we should end the trip a little early." Briannna said looking at all of us with concern in her eyes.
We grabbed the journal and DVD set before heading to Jordyn's apartment.
"The owners left us about 3,000 Legos if you want to play with those. Marshall and I had a Death Star compition yesterday, you can see if you want to participate. Marshall I'd like to speak with you. About dinner." Jordyn said. Marshall came over and we explained what we found.
"Oh. I'm without words. Dinners ready though. I made pizza." Marshall said as he served the food. He really was a great cook. The pizza wasn't soggy, and baaked in grease unlike school pizza. Later that night I couldn't sleep so I read the journal.
