Jordyn's pov
Being in Oversight has given the four of us a chance to study and learn some history. Unfortunately. I don't like history but Austin's history with the gods is pretty interesting. I found myself a book with information on Austin beyond my wildest dreams. And I have pretty wild dreams.
The day Austin broke off from the other gods was on September 13, 2001. Ray and I's birthday. Turns out Austin split his souls in two dividing the nice side and the evil side. Hades, one of the eldest gods, took i.n the nice portion of the soul and raisef it alongside his beloved daughter as her twin brother. So that means that Ray isn't my real brother. I guess I've always known but I this doesn't effect how much I love him as my brother.
The next day Lizzy, Jazmine, Kyla and I were called to a meeting witg Austin himself. I never knew what I was getting into. I wish I did. We walked into his office unsure of the issue.
"Greeting you pests." Austin greeted. "You remember your brother correct, Jordyn?"
"I don't know who your talking to sir, none of our names are Jordyn." Kyla lied.
"Further more, none of us have a brother. I'm an only child, she's an only child, she only has a younger sister and she has an older sister. No brothers." I said slightly lying, and telling the truth at the same time.
"Interesting lie. I see through your act."
"Funny, we see through yours." Lizzy said.
"I think it's time we end this fued once and for all."
"Finally we agree on something." Izy replied. I felt a hand on me neck but by the time I could react it was too late. Ray had grabbed my necklace, the source of my powers. Or so I thought.
"Ray give me back my locket." I said as Ray gave Austin my necklace.
"So its a locket. How do I open it?" Austin said fiddling with the ruby.
"Only I can open it." I replied with my arms crossed.
"Xavier, keep them busy while I figure this out." The next 20 minutes or so were spent fighting Ray.
"Ugh, I can't figure this out, screw it!" Austin exclaimed throwing the locket on the ground. I watched ad it shattered into a million pieces.
"No!" I shouted.
"Xavier, Operation Alto." Austin said. Ray slammed me on the ground and while I was partially awake I saw my brother through my friends into a wall knocking them unconscious.
I woke up in a cell made of some sort of glass. I heard footsteps from my right. A man I knew all to well stood in the doorway.
"You've got five seconds to let me go, Austin." I warned.
"Or you'll what? That crystal unbreakable. And besides I broke your locket and took your friends power sources as well. But yours is the only one I destroyed." Austin said with a sly smirk on his face.
"You asked for it." I punched the glass with a pair of iron gloves I brought with me and I'm glad I did. The crystal shattered all over the floor. Before I could get out the crystal reformed itself creating the wall once more.
"First you steal my family and force him to fight me all for your personal gain. You... you monster!" Tears rolled down my face and he seamed shocken that I called him a monster.
"I warned you. And I'm not a monster. With every hit it grows twice as strong. It was a pain in the but to mine. Only severe heat can weaken it but you don't have your powers." He left the room at the last word. There was nothing I could do but cry. I am a useless piece of shit. I'm so helpless I havd to depend on a hero to come save me.
"I wish there was someone I could talk to right now." I mumbled to myself in my corner. With that my familiar appeared acting like a little puppy. Thats when it hit me.
