"sad, mad, frustrated...it's been so long!!" he said. kamala laughed, picking up dash laying him on her chest. "trust me, dougie! i'm ready to get checked out too! i wanna swim again before the summer ends!" kamala said. "swimming really? swimming!!" doug looked at her sideways. "i could care less about swimming...i want to do other...fun activities!!" doug said with a grin. "im sorry babe, but it's only been 4 weeks!" kamala said. doug planted his face in the pillow and growled. "add those two or three more weeks and i'm basically a nun!" he said and kamala busted out laughing. "well it's worth it right?" she said.
"that's why they call them nuns because they ain't getting nun!" he said. "oh my gosh, doug!" kamala laughed. "this isn't funny, honey! i'm boarder line depressed." he said. "i know...but i promise we will do something for our birthdays!" she said rubbing dash's back. "MOM! DAD!" kinsley yelled walking into the naval observatory. she raced upstairs to her parents. "hi babygirl! how was your day?" kamala asked her sitting up next to doug. "what's wrong, sweetie? have you been crying?" doug asked her. kinsley started crying again. both doug and kamala looked at each other. "come here, honey..." kamala patted the bed. kinsley shook her head wiping her cheek. "i know you don't want me to but...i miss home. i miss california!" kin sniffled. "you guys need me to be happy but..." she paused. "i want my old friends, my volleyball team, i wanna go home." she repeated. they didn't know what to say. "please don't be mad..." kinsley said.
doug got off the bed walking over to her, kamala did the same. "aww baby..." kamala rubbed her cheek. "we're not mad..." doug said softly. "you know what...i miss home too. i miss us taking hikes in the woods." he said. "and the back yard where we use too play." kamala said. kinsley started crying again. "come here..." they pulled her into a hug. "we love you, kin." doug kissed her cheek. "i love you too!" she mumbled softly.
