Gordon's heart raced as he stared up at Brick, the giant's fist raised high like a meteor ready to crash down. "Wait! Just listen!" he pleaded, panic lacing his voice.
But Brick's brow furrowed, determination set in his features. "Orders are orders, Gordon." With that, he brought his fist down like a hammer.
Gordon barely managed to dodge, the ground shaking as Brick's fist smashed into the cobblestones, sending a spray of debris into the air. Dust and bits of stone swirled around them, making the scene feel like a chaotic battleground.
"C'mon, Gordon! Don't make this harder!" Brick shouted, a hint of disappointment breaking through his tough exterior. He lunged again, his massive frame barreling toward Gordon like a runaway freight train.
Gordon sprinted to the side, the wind from Brick's punch nearly knocking him off his feet. "Why are you doing this?" he gasped, desperate to reason with the mountain of muscle. "We're on the same side!"
Brick shook his head, his massive shoulders blocking any escape route. "Not anymore!" he bellowed, his voice echoing in the alley as he charged again.
Gordon's instincts kicked in, and he ducked just as Brick's fist whizzed over his head, the sheer force of the blow sending a shudder through the ground. "How are you so strong?" he exclaimed, adrenaline pumping through his veins.
"Genetics!" Brick replied, a cheeky grin spreading across his face. "And a steady diet of donuts!"
As Brick prepared to strike again, Gordon glanced around, his mind racing for a plan. In the distance, the sounds of chaos from the festival faded, focusing his thoughts. This is my chance!
With a sudden burst of courage, Gordon lunged for Brick's legs, but Brick sidestepped effortlessly, bringing his knee up into Gordon's side. Pain exploded through him, knocking the wind out as he staggered back.
"Come on, Gordon! You're really gonna let me beat you up this easily?" Brick laughed, his booming voice filled with amusement as he took a step closer.
Gordon gritted his teeth, the world around him spinning. "I didn't ask for this!" he shouted, frustration bubbling over as he tried to catch his breath.
Just then, Brick charged again, and in a frantic attempt, Gordon ducked low, narrowly avoiding the blow. But as he rolled to the side, Brick's massive hand swept down, and with a sickening thud, it connected with Gordon's shoulder, sending him crashing against the wall of the alley.
Gordon gasped, pain radiating from the impact as he slumped to the ground, the weight of Brick's strength pinning him like a heavy blanket. "You're really in over your head, huh?" Brick said, towering over him with a mix of triumph and genuine remorse, his grin faltering for just a moment.
As Gordon struggled to rise, he felt the adrenaline coursing through his veins, igniting a spark of determination. I can't give up!
"Looks like it's game over, Gordon!" Brick declared, raising his fist for the final blow. But just as he prepared to bring it down, Gordon rolled sideways, narrowly escaping the crushing strike.
In that split second, he sprang to his feet, adrenaline pumping. "I'm not done yet!" he yelled, launching himself forward.
Brick's eyes widened, and for a moment, time seemed to freeze. With a surge of energy, Gordon aimed for Brick's midsection, hoping to take the giant by surprise.
The two collided, and while Brick stumbled back, he quickly regained his balance, a mix of surprise and delight flashing across his face. "Nice try!" he chuckled, but Gordon could see the gleam of respect in his eyes.
