AASHIVIK

I was in the middle of an important conference call discussing the expansion plans for the technology industry under my company. It was a crucial discussion, one that required my full attention, but still, my attention was divided.

It was raining. Not the heavy downpour that lashed angrily against the ground, but a gentle, soothing rain that seemed to kiss the earth with tenderness. Through the glass, I could see my little moon in the garden, twirling gracefully in the rain, her laughter ringing faintly through the glass.

She was wearing a full-length floral dress that seemed to capture the essence of the rain itself—light and flowing, with hues of soft blues and purples that shimmered in the dim weather. The fabric twirled effortlessly around her as she moved, mirroring the grace of her dance.

She looked up and noticed me watching from the window. With an infectious grin, she waved enthusiastically and motioned for me to join her. I raised my phone slightly, signalling that I couldn't leave the call, but she simply pouted, her eyes sparkling with mischief, and I was endorsed in the conversation once again, it was a few minutes then I could go and meet her.

Suddenly, I felt a gentle tug on my hand, and I know who has the audacity to do this other than the woman who rules my heart. I couldn't resist her pull, and with a chuckle, I followed her lead as she led me out into the garden. The rain fell softly around us, casting a serene glow over the lush greenery and vibrant flowers. The call was long forgotten and so the deal, I don't care about anything when it comes to her.

The skirt flowed freely around her, begging to be spun in the rain. With a coy smile, she looked up at me and softly requested, '' Can you please twirl me?"

Aww, my love how can I deny her sweet request

Without hesitation, I placed one hand on her waist and, with a gentle yet firm motion, twirled her around. Her dress was flowing in a graceful arc, catching the raindrops that kissed her skin and hair. My little moon giggled joyfully, her laughter a melody that blended seamlessly with the rhythm of the falling rain.

The sight of her happiness filled me with a warmth that spread from my heart to every corner of my being. With my free hand, I brushed a stray strand of hair behind her ear, that was blocking the sight of mine, and the way her eyes sparkled with unfiltered delight made me mesmerised by her again. She looked up at me with a radiant smile, her cheeks flushed with red hues.

She looked up at me, her eyes soft and filled with softness. "For what?"

"For telling me what happiness feels like" I replied, my voice thick with emotion.

She smiled, and it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. She had effortlessly woven herself into the fabric of my life, bringing light and laughter into every corner of my existence. In her presence, I felt grounded and whole, as if I had finally found the missing piece of myself that I hadn't known was missing.

Eventually, she looked up at me with a playful glint in her eye. "Let's go inside before we catch a cold" she suggested with a teasing smile, her voice laced with affection.

I chuckled softly, nodding in agreement. "Lead the way, please" I replied, offering her my arm. She held my arm and led us the way.

Same evening

It had been a busy day, filled with back-to-back meetings and endless paperwork. But as productive as I had been, a gnawing feeling of unease began to creep into my thoughts. I hadn't heard from Chandani in the last three hours. Usually, she would be chirping here and there and ask me 10 times when I would be done with my work so that she could talk to me but now there had been nothing.
