Chapter 6: Dinner Date

The morning sun filtered softly through the curtains, but today, the usual hum of excitement in the Bigg Boss house felt muted. Taehyung woke up feeling uneasy, the lingering tension from the previous night's confrontation with Chaeyoung still fresh in her mind. As she lay in bed, the sound of music began to fill the house—another upbeat K-pop track, signaling the start of the day. But instead of bringing joy, it felt like the soundtrack to something heavier brewing.

She sighed and tossed off the blanket, mentally preparing herself for what was to come. Despite the unsettled feeling, she knew she had to keep up appearances, and as always, the morning routine called for dancing. Taehyung joined the others in the living room, where everyone was already moving to the beat. Yoongi swayed lazily, while Jungkook and Jimin were their usual lively selves, trying to outshine each other. But the energy was different. The smiles weren't as carefree, and the laughter felt a little forced.

After the music ended, the group made their way to the kitchen for breakfast. Taehyung sat down with her friends—Jimin, Yoongi, Jungkook, and Hoseok—while Namjoon and Seokjin joined a little later. The room buzzed with quiet conversation, but the tension from last night was still thick in the air. Chaeyoung and her group were seated across the room, their low whispers and side glances creating an unmistakable divide.

"Anyone else feel like there's a storm brewing?" Jimin whispered as she passed Taehyung a plate of toast.

"Definitely," Yoongi muttered, sipping his coffee. "But let's not give them the satisfaction of making it obvious."

Taehyung nodded in agreement, but her mind kept drifting to Chaeyoung. Every now and then, she would catch the other girl's icy stare, making her skin prickle with discomfort. Taehyung wasn't one to let people get under her skin, but Chaeyoung had a way of making everything feel personal. And it was getting harder to brush off.

Just as Taehyung was about to suggest they change the topic, Bigg Boss's voice boomed through the speakers.

"Housemates, today's task will test not only your strength but your ability to work together as a team. In pairs, you will compete in a series of challenges. The winning team will receive a luxury reward, while the losing pair will face consequences that may affect the entire house."

A murmur spread through the room, excitement mingling with anxiety. The challenge sounded simple enough, but in this house, nothing ever was.

"Looks like we're partnering up," Jungkook said with a grin, turning to Taehyung. "Wanna team up?"

Taehyung smiled, nodding. "Let's do it."

The task was set up in the garden, and the pairs soon gathered, waiting for instructions. Taehyung stood with Jungkook, feeling a mixture of nerves and anticipation. Across from them, Chaeyoung had teamed up with Lisa, her expression unreadable but her eyes coldly focused.

The first part of the task involved a complicated relay race—one contestant had to navigate a series of obstacles blindfolded, while their partner guided them with verbal instructions. It was designed to test trust and communication, two things that had been increasingly fragile in the house lately.

Taehyung and Jungkook were up first. She tied the blindfold around her eyes, trusting Jungkook to lead her through the maze of hurdles. His voice was steady, his instructions clear, and despite the challenge, they moved swiftly through the course. At one point, Taehyung stumbled, but Jungkook's reassuring tone pulled her back on track.

"Left, Tae! Just a little more—yes, now jump!" His voice was calm yet encouraging, making her feel secure despite the blindness.

As they neared the finish line, Taehyung untied her blindfold and glanced back at the others. Chaeyoung and Lisa were next, but already, Taehyung could sense the frustration building between them. Lisa's voice was sharp, and Chaeyoung's movements were hesitant. It didn't take long for their lack of coordination to become apparent.
