As Kierra entered her seventh month of pregnancy, life on the road continued to move at a fast pace. Between performances and rest, she and Tasha had a rhythm that worked. They'd been taking extra care as Kierra's belly grew, and the demands of pregnancy became more pronounced. Today, however, marked an important milestone—another doctor's appointment and the beginning of planning their baby shower. They were having a boy, and excitement was starting to bubble over.
The car ride to the doctor was quiet, but comfortable. Tasha kept glancing over at Kierra, checking in without saying much. Kierra caught her gaze, smiling.
"I'm good, babe. He's kicking a lot today though," she said, placing a hand on her belly.
Tasha grinned. "That's our little man in there, getting stronger every day."
They arrived at Dr. Adams' office, and soon enough, Kierra was laying back on the exam table while Tasha held her hand, just like always. Dr. Adams greeted them warmly, setting up for the ultrasound.
"Well, look who's here, almost seven months along," Dr. Adams teased gently. "How are we feeling today?"
Kierra let out a small laugh. "Good! Tired, but good. He's been active."
"That's a great sign," Dr. Adams said, moving the ultrasound wand across Kierra's stomach. The now-familiar sound of their son's heartbeat filled the room, strong and steady.
Tasha's eyes softened as she looked at the screen, where their baby boy appeared larger than ever, his little hands and feet clearly visible. "Wow, he's really growing."
"He sure is," Dr. Adams confirmed. "Everything looks right on track. You're both doing well. Just keep up what you've been doing—taking those breaks, staying hydrated, and not overexerting yourself."
Kierra smiled, relieved to hear the good news. "Thank you, Dr. Adams. We're trying to keep it as balanced as possible."
After wrapping up the appointment, the couple left the office with a renewed sense of joy. They had one more ultrasound photo to add to their collection. Tasha drove them back to the hotel, her mind already turning to the next big thing on their list—the baby shower.
Later that evening, while relaxing in their hotel room, Kierra sat down at the small table with her laptop open. "So, let's talk baby shower," she said, grinning as she scrolled through ideas. "Mommy has been asking when we're going to start planning."
Tasha raised an eyebrow. "You know she's probably already got half the plans done."
Kierra laughed, nodding. "You're right, but I still want to pick a few things. It's our boy's first party."
Tasha smiled and leaned over to look at Kierra's screen. "Okay, so what's the theme? You know we gotta go big."
Kierra's eyes sparkled as she clicked through various ideas. "I was thinking something classic. Maybe a 'little prince' theme? Blue and gold, regal but still playful."
Tasha's face lit up. "I like that. He is royalty after all."
They laughed together, excited to start the planning. Between balancing tour life and preparing for their baby, there was always something to keep them busy. But in moments like these—when they could sit together and dream about their son's future—it felt like everything was falling into place.
As Kierra jotted down ideas for the guest list, decorations, and games, Tasha wrapped her arms around her from behind, resting her chin on Kierra's shoulder.
"You know, I can't wait to meet him," Tasha whispered, her voice filled with emotion. "To see him in your arms, to see him in our arms."
Kierra placed a hand over Tasha's, feeling the warmth of her wife's embrace. "Me neither. It's gonna be amazing."
