It was a quiet, lazy afternoon in the Titans Tower. The sun streamed through the large windows, casting warm patches of light onto the floor of the kitchen. Raven and Beast Boy, now happily married for some time, had taken up the habit of cooking together. It was one of those small but meaningful rituals that had become a part of their daily life—a peaceful contrast to the chaos of being superheroes.

Raven stood by the counter, scanning the various ingredients laid out. "I think we're missing the spices," she said, her voice calm but with a hint of mild frustration. "They're in the top cupboard."

Beast Boy, who was stirring something on the stove, glanced over his shoulder. "You need a hand?"

Raven shot him a knowing look. "You know I don't need help with everything, Garfield." But even as she said it, she walked over to the counter and climbed onto the slab, balancing herself carefully. She reached up for the cupboard handle, but it was still just a bit out of reach. Standing on her tiptoes, she managed to open it.

"Just... stand there," she called down to Beast Boy, "in case I fall."

Beast Boy grinned, setting down his spoon and making his way to stand right beneath her, his hands already raised slightly in case she needed him. "I'm ready for action, babe," he joked, his green eyes sparkling. "Go ahead, I got you."

Raven rolled her eyes but couldn't suppress the faint smile that tugged at her lips. It was hard not to enjoy his playful spirit, especially when it was directed at her. After a few moments of rummaging through the cupboard, she found the container of spices and handed it down to Beast Boy.

"Put it near the stove," she instructed.

"Yes, ma'am," he replied, mock-saluting her as he placed the spice container down.

Raven began to climb down from the counter but misjudged her footing. In her concentration on descending, she didn't notice the cupboard door she had left wide open above her. With a soft thud, her forehead collided with the door.

"Ouch!" she winced, rubbing her head.

Beast Boy, who had seen the whole thing, couldn't help but chuckle softly. "Careful, Rae. You're a superhero, not a stuntwoman."

She glared at him, though it was more playful than serious. "Not helping."

Still chuckling, he stepped closer, his hands ready to help her down. "Alright, alright. Just hold on, I got you."

Raven shook her head and sighed, reaching out toward him. "I'm coming down," she said, as she cautiously tried to step off the slab. Her hand met his, and just as she thought she was safely balanced, her foot slipped off the edge. For a split second, her body lurched forward, and her heart leaped into her throat as she realized she was about to fall.

But before she could hit the ground, Beast Boy was already there, his arms wrapping securely around her waist as she tumbled forward. His reflexes were quick, catching her before she could hit the floor. Raven found herself pressed against his chest, his arms holding her protectively as she blinked in surprise.

"Gotcha," he whispered, his voice soft and a little smug, but mostly full of affection.

Raven exhaled slowly, her body relaxing in his embrace. She could feel his heartbeat steady and strong beneath her cheek, and for a moment, the world seemed to slow down.

"I... I wasn't going to fall," she muttered, though they both knew it wasn't entirely true.

Beast Boy laughed, still holding her close. "Uh-huh. Sure, Rae. Whatever you say."

Her cheeks flushed slightly, a rare but endearing sight. "You don't need to gloat."

"I'm not gloating," he said, grinning down at her. "I'm just saying—good thing I'm here, right?"

Raven sighed, unable to keep up the facade of irritation any longer. "Alright, fine. Thank you."

Beast Boy raised an eyebrow, leaning in closer. "What was that? I didn't hear you."

"You heard me," she replied, her voice low, but there was the slightest hint of amusement playing at the corners of her lips.

He chuckled again, pulling her even closer. "Just making sure. You're welcome, Rae."

Before she could say anything else, he tilted her chin up gently with his fingers and leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to her lips. It was tender and lingering, the kind of kiss that made Raven forget all about her bump on the head or her nearly disastrous fall. She melted into the kiss, her fingers curling into the fabric of his shirt as she kissed him back, losing herself in the warmth and comfort that only he could provide.

When they finally pulled away, Raven looked up at him, her eyes soft but with a touch of sarcasm. "You're enjoying this way too much."

Beast Boy smirked. "Maybe. But can you blame me? You literally fell for me."

Raven groaned at his cheesy joke, but despite herself, she smiled. "You're lucky I love you."

"I know," he replied with a grin, his arms still wrapped around her as if he never wanted to let go.

As they stood there, wrapped in each other's warmth in the middle of the kitchen, Beast Boy leaned down to kiss the top of her head—right where she had bumped it. "You know," he said softly, "I'll always catch you, right?"

Raven looked up at him, her expression softening as she nodded. "I know. And I'll always have you to thank for it."

The kitchen, once filled with the quiet sounds of cooking, now felt even warmer, the soft glow of their love filling the room.
