29: HOPE

2 Years Later

Jungkook was just staring at a beautiful couple who were laughing and talking as he sighed. His eyes welled up with tears but he quickly wiped them when he heard a voice..

“Appa!!” He heard a girl squeal as he smiles and bends at her level while caressing her hair, “Aera.. what happened baby?” he asked while picking her up in his arms while smiling at her as she hugged his neck.

“Appa.. tomorrow we have Picnic.. you're coming right?” She asked with her doe eyes as Jungkook laughs and nods, “Of course honey.. Appa will come hmm? How can appa forget? He will always volunteer in your picnics ok?” he reassures as the girl squeals in happiness as Jungkook smiles.

He returned home with Aera in his arms and a bag of groceries as he removes his shoes and walks in, “I'm home!” he says as an old lady smiles while picking Aera in her arms..

“Eomonnie..” Aera squeals as Jee-Hin smiles while cooing at her cuteness, “Omo Aera..how was your day sweetheart?” She asks as Aera rants about her day making Jungkook chuckle as he placed the grocery bag on the kitchen counter and arranged them in the refrigerator.

“Aera shi.. Bibimbap, Kimchi and Rice ok?” Jungkook asks as Aera nods while giving him a thumps up as Jungkook smiles and took out the pan as he started to prepare the dinner.

After an hour, he was done making everything as he placed the food on the dining area as he rolled up his sleeve, “Eomma! Aera! Meal's ready.” Jungkook calls as both Jee-Hin and Aera came and sat down as Aera sat beside Jungkook.

He smiles as he took a spoonful of rice with kimchi as he offers the food to Aera, “Open your mouth baby.” He says as Aera giggles and opens her mouth as Jungkook fed her the food.

“You finally look Happy Jungkook..” Jee-Hin said as she has seen Jungkook breakdown and give up completely in his life to an extent he was ready to end things but then Aera was his hope..she turned things around for him in a beautiful way.

Flashback:

“Let me end this pain forever Yn-ah.. i-i can't live in this cruel world without you...I-i just can't... I'm sorry, your kookie tried to be strong but he couldn't.. Your Kook is weak without you Yn-ah, I'm helpless...  Please wait for me baby.. I'm coming to you.”

He said those words as he looked down the old building, he took a step forward and before he could jump he heard a crying sound which made him pause. It was a loud tearful sound as Jungkook's heart thud at the painful cries.

He turned around to find the source and then his eyes fell on a basket at the edge of the rooftop. He walked towards him and gasped when he saw a beautiful baby, in the basket with beautiful doe eyes...just like him, surprisingly?

He then looked around to find the mother but couldn't as he furrowed his brows, why did he not see her before? He then picked her up as a note fell from the basket as Jungkook reads it,

‘please take care of her.... I know you can do it... I will be in her... forever.’

The note was confusing but then, he felt as if Yn had written this note...he just looked at the girl child in his hands and then at the rooftop edge, was he insane to do that? He looked up at the bright star in the night sky as he smiles a little.

“Thank you for saving me Yn-ah...”
