jaehyun walked along the streets of hongdae, seoul, trying to find something special to gift to his one and only girlfriend, y/n. the bond between the two has always been deep, being best friends before started a relationship together.

the girl's birthday was in a week, and this birthday being the first spent together for the couple as boyfriend and girlfriend, jaehyun was nervous. like, really nervous. he was stumped on what to give her. seeking advice from her sister, he found a particular gift that would melt her heart. hand-written letters.

"that brat likes gifts that involve some sort of hands-on activity. so long as the gift is genuine, she'll love it a lot, trust me," the girl's sister advised.

y/n's love language had never been gifting gifts, so she doesn't really know how to appreciate gifts. instead, birthday presents that involve sharing messages from the bottom of one's heart makes her heart swell with appreciation. jaehyun walked in to a card shop. the shop had tables where customers could write their letters immediately instead of going home to do so, as well as baristas for customers to enjoy a cup of coffee made by them while writing their letters.

jaehyun searched through the selection of cards before picking up a card with dog patterns on it. "she'll love this," jaehyun chuckled to himself, purchasing the card before taking a seat on one of the tables to start writing.

the boy left the shop and kept the card in his bag, grinning at the thought of his girlfriend receiving the card.

after one week of waiting, the girl's birthday finally arrived. she was greeted with breakfast in bed, along with the hand-written card by jaehyun. as she munched on her breakfast and read the card, giggling at the dog patterns at the front, she felt like her heart was going to explode.

"thank you so much for the gift, jae," she flashed her signature wide smile at jaehyun before pressing a kiss on his cheek. the boy returned the smile, leaning on her shoulder as she enjoyed her birthday breakfast.
