there he was. looking fine as usual while holding his basketball and leaning against his locker. typical han taesan. the boy was known for his basketball skills, and obviously his good looks. he could bag a baddie anytime. compared to the hallway crush, y/n was different. completely different. they were basically polar opposites.

the girl hated sports, looked mediocre and not really well known in school. in the few years of high school, she had never heard of a guy having a certain liking towards her. her feelings towards the boy was completely one-sided, or that's what she thought.

finally, lunch break arrived. y/n dashed towards the seats her best friend, yujin, had occupied before ranting to her about her troubles. (yujin gave AMAZING advice to help her out)

"i don't know what to do, yujin...should i stop liking him? im too much of a coward to talk to him, let alone get together with him. it just feels like a waste of time..." y/n ranted, throwing her head back and closing her eyes shut in frustration.

"why should you stop liking me?" a voice was heard from behind the girl. she knew that voice all too well, heck, perhaps without her sense of hearing she'll still recognise his voice. she tensed up, cheeks and ears blushing crimson and taesan's voice. she slowly opened her eyes, causing her to be greeted by his gaze.

"i didn't mean that! i was just, you know, frustrated..." she babbled, embarrassment washing over her like tidal waves. no way she just said that!

taesan laughed and her flustered demeanour, finding her quite cute in fact. he pulled her up from her chair and dragged her to the rooftop of the school campus, seeking privacy to share his feelings to her. his action left yujin staring with her jaw dropping, smirking and flashing a teasing gaze towards y/n who was getting dragged away.

"i'll let the youngsters do their thing," yujin muttered to herself, giggling at the thought of the girl finally finding someone to be with.

once the two reached the rooftop, taesan placed his hands on her shoulders, taking in a deep breath as he embraced himself for his confession. "actually...i like you too. to be honest, probably as long as you had been crushing on me. this whole confession sounds really cliche and cheesy, i know but...i really don't know how to put my feelings into words. i just...really like you."

the girl blinked in disbelief, cheeks flushing into a deeper pink due to the boy's confession. she didn't know how to react, so she kept quiet and looked down onto the floor.

that was until taesan lifted her gaze towards him by using his hands to tilt her chin upwards before placing a quick peck on her cheeks.

"im sorry...you must be shocked, uhmm, you don't have to reciprocate so soon, just take your time to think about it." taesan said, scratching his nape in shyness.

y/n giggled and took his hand in hers, using her thumb to gently stroke his hand before placing a peck on his cheek too. "i think i've thought about it quite enough already..." she smiled and exited the rooftop while holding the boy's hands tightly.
