y/n and leehan have been roommates for 2 years now. they weren't supposed to be rooming together, but because of a mistake in the booking system, they were roomed together and had no choice but to remain this way.

"KIM DONGHYUN!" the girl shouted, causing leehan to shout back, asking her what she wanted while continuing to use his phone. she stormed into his room, frowning and resting her arms against her hips before proceeding with her scolding. "did you eat my kimbap? i was saving that for dinner!"

"there wasn't anything for me to eat!"
"im going to eat your fishes next i swear. stop stealing my food!" the girl smacked his arm.

this pair had always bickered over small things like eating each other's food, stealing each other's notes for class, and using up all the ingredients for cooking in the fridge. of course, whenever they fought, as the walls of the dorm was not very soundproof, other students bunking next to them could hear the ruckus they were making, which was almost every other day.

due to this, their childish schoolmates and friends would always tease them by saying stuff like they liked each other.  you know, kind of like an enemies to lovers trope.

"come on, leehan, a guy and a girl who always fight always end up getting together. haven't you read books before?" jaehyun rolled his eyes playfully as he wrapped his arm around the boy's shoulder.

"quit contemplating, y/n, leehan definitely likes you. have you seen the way he looks at you when you guys talk? it's so obvious." ningning teased.

the two roommates were stumped. so many people kept saying these things about them. could it really be that they liked each other? when the two reached their dorms, there was no conversations. no bickering, no fighting. it was oddly quiet. the two were feeling awkward around each other now. whenever they wanted to talk, the words would get stuck in their throat, and eventually they would just keep quiet and do their own things.

"im sure your friends have been saying the same things as my friends have, right..?"  leehan spoke up, his voice barely above a whisper.

y/n nodded her head slowly, glancing at the boy. he nodded and walked towards the girl who was standing near the sink, washing her dishes. he held her shoulders and turned her to face his direction, causing her to widen her eyes at the sudden contact.

"they aren't wrong. ive been wanting to tell you this for awhile now but i didn't know how to say it. i like you, ive liked you since we became roommates. i know you would be awkward around me after i told you this but just take your time to think about it, okay? you don't have to tell me immediately." leehan confessed, a slight shade of crimson flushing his cheeks and ears.

y/n stared at his face with all sorts of emotions bubbling in her. she, in fact, did like him too. but of course, she was too much of a coward to say it out so things let to this. she smiled and pulled the boy in for a hug, resting her head on his chest, causing her to hear and feel his heart thumping wildly. she looked up and saw his smiley eyes and bright grin stretching from ear to ear.

"i like you too, kim donghyun."
