"... as we forgive those who sin against us;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever.
amen."jiseok was shaking as he spoke these words, too scared of being filtered out as an impostor. leading to death. like his best friend.
standing at the front of the altar, the girl was held down, a shotgun pressed to her head. and as soon as the last word of the prayer fell, the gunshot sounded through the whole building.
and jiseok shrugged. she died because of him.
together they had planned their escape. their escape from that horrendous cult they were born into.
so they knew each other since birth, noticing that something was wrong. and that other people lived their lifes in other ways, not forced into religion.
jiseok was the first one to bring up the idea of running away. she was against it at first, too scared.
yet when their leader found out, she was the one to take all the blame for, not mentioning jiseok at all.
it should've been him being sentenced to death. not her. now there he was, standing in the very front of the commotion, having a free view of her blown-off head, the blood gushing out in an indescribable amount.
jiseok felt dizzy, he felt sick just by watching. so it was no wonder he collapsed as soon as the meeting ended, vomiting the food out he ate before.
the image of his dead best friend circled his mind, consuming him entirely. how could he possibly think straight?
it should've been him. another thought that wouldn't leave his head. he needed to escape as soon as possible. there was no way jiseok would endure everything on his own.
getting up on shaky knees, his brain switched off and he let his body do what it desired.
jiseok started running. not having planned it out, clueless of what to do or where to go. because they'd find him, for sure.
he was fucked.
"where are you going?!" he heard someone shout but jiseok barely registered it, just wanting to get away.
jiseok knew that all the doors leading outside were locked. so he had to think of something else.
grabbing the table-sized stone statue, jiseok threw it against a window, which immediately broke.
and that's when the cult members passing by noticed. "hey, stop!" but jiseok was long gone.
as the jump wasn't that high, jiseok didn't catch any injuries that would make it harder for him to escape.
so he continued running, deeper into the forest, with one clear goal in his mind - to join his best friend.
jiseok realised they stopped following him as soon as he stood in front of a huge TV tower.
then he received the idea.
