The next day, news of Aarushi and Dhir's engagement spread like wildfire, especially since the media had been invited to the grand event the previous night. Headlines flashed with the photos of the stunning couple, captivating the attention of people across the country.
Suddenly, the scene shifted to London. A woman was seen rushing through the corridors of a hospital, her footsteps quick and determined as she approached a cabin. She flung the door open to find another woman standing by the large window, gazing out at the city skyline.
"Mam, have you heard the news?" the secretary asked, breathless.
The woman by the window, calm and composed, took a deep breath. Without turning around, she replied, "Yes, I know. Dhir is engaged."
"But mam, how can you be so calm about it?" The secretary's voice held a tone of urgency, concern evident in her expression.
Still facing the window, the woman replied coolly, "I know. Just book my tickets. It's time to face him."
The secretary, somewhat taken aback, responded quickly, "Okay, mam. I'll book the tickets according to your schedule." With that, she hurried out of the room.
Left alone, the woman turned fully to the window, her eyes sharp with determination. She whispered to herself, "I'm coming, Dhir... soon."
The camera zoomed in on her hospital badge, revealing her name—Dr. Sweety Rajvansh.
The scene shifted back to India, where Rivaan paced nervously in his room, running his fingers through his hair in deep thought. After taking a deep breath, he finally gathered the courage to pick up his phone and dial a number. As the ringing echoed in his ear, his heart raced. When the call connected, he heard a familiar voice.
"Hello? Who's this?" came the voice from the other end—Dilisha.
Rivaan smiled nervously, "Hey, shorty."
Dilisha instantly recognized the teasing tone, rolling her eyes. "You? What do you want now?" she asked with a hint of irritation.
He hesitated for a moment, then quickly replied, "Uh... actually, can we... go out?"
"What?" she replied, caught off guard.
Not wanting to seem too forward, Rivaan quickly added, "Don't think I'm asking for a date or anything. You're not that lucky," he said, mocking her in his usual playful tone. "Actually, I need help picking something for bhaiya and bhabhi."
Dilisha's excitement vanished, and her voice dropped a little. "Oh," she said, sounding indifferent.
Noticing the change, Rivaan couldn't help but tease, "You don't sound too happy. Are you sure you don't actually want to go on a date with me?"
"Nooo!" she responded in a childish voice, making Rivaan blush and grin.
"Okay then," he said, laughing lightly. "Let's just call it an outing—since you're my bhabhi's sister, after all. We'll do some shopping, grab dinner, and I'll drop you home."
Dilisha hesitated for a moment, but Rivaan, sensing her uncertainty, teased, "What's wrong? Does your boyfriend have an issue with it?"
Immediately, she snapped, "I don't have a boyfriend, okay?! And fine, let's go. I don't like you, though—you're too irritating. But for my sisy and jiju, I'll agree."
Rivaan chuckled, "Alright, let's meet tomorrow then." He hung up the phone, and as soon as he did, his face lit up. Excitement bubbled inside him as he jumped up in joy, almost like a little kid. "Woah! A date with the person I love the most!" he cheered to himself, grinning from ear to ear. "Okay, maybe not a real date, but close enough. I'll take it!"
