HALDI FUNCTION

The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as everyone gathered for the Haldi ceremony of Dhir and Aarushi. The venue was decorated with vibrant yellow and orange marigolds, their fragrance filling the air. Families were dressed in shades of yellow, laughing and joking as they eagerly awaited the couple's entrance. It was supposed to be a day of joy, tradition, and celebration—but for Dhir and Aarushi, it felt like just another battlefield.

Ever since their engagement, Dhir and Aarushi had purposely avoided meeting each other. Their frustration had reached its peak, and instead of spending time together or planning for their future, they had kept themselves occupied with their individual lives and businesses. The rivalry between the Oberoi and Singhania companies continued in full force, but the clashes happened online or through their managers and secretaries. Face-to-face encounters? None. Until today.

As the families gathered for the haldi, everyone was all smiles—except for the bride and groom, who now stood awkwardly across from each other. It had been weeks since they last saw each other, and the tension was palpable. Aarushi stood with her arms crossed, her lips pressed into a tight line, while Dhir kept his gaze focused anywhere but her direction, his jaw clenched.

Their siblings, Dilisha and Rivaan, exchanged knowing glances, watching the couple's cold body language. Despite the ongoing rivalry, both families were overjoyed at the upcoming wedding. Laughter and teasing filled the air as relatives prepared the bowls of haldi, and everyone was excited to smear the couple in turmeric as a symbol of good luck and blessings.

The tension between Aarushi and Dhir, however, was undeniable. This was the first time they were standing face to face after weeks of heated business disputes and online battles. Neither of them could hide their frustration, but the cheerful mood of their families pushed them to at least pretend for the day.

Aarushi took a deep breath, catching Dhir's eye briefly, before looking away again. Dhir, on the other hand, stole quick glances at her while maintaining a stiff expression. The battle between them wasn't over, not by a long shot, but for today, they had to play the part of the happy bride and groom-to-be.

As the ceremony began, two massive golden vessels were set up in the center of the courtyard, and Dhir and Aarushi were guided to sit inside them. Aarushi looked radiant in a yellow outfit adorned with delicate flower jewelry, while Dhir wore a simple yet elegant yellow kurta, perfectly complementing the bright setting around them. The air was filled with excitement as their loved ones prepared for the traditional Haldi ritual.
