The next morning, Arata woke up from his bed, which was a bed from the nurses office. As the sunlight tickled his face, he groggily sat up. He hadn't talked with Hoshino at all yesterday, and he had found out that she blocked him on momo-talk. It wasn't great, but things like this happened all the time.

But he was still mad over what she had done. After all, he had brought her to the aquarium with his hard-earned money. And she had just flung him like it didn't even matter at all. He stretched a little before getting up and putting his shoes on. He then picked his rifle up from the side of his bed, and predicted that Yume would be probably still sleeping on the couch, probably.

Or maybe she could be making coffee for the both of them. It was just her sleeping or making coffee for the gang. He soon reached the door to the school council room, as the orange sunlight glinted off in some dust. He couldn't hear her normal humming, nor her snoring. Slightly worried, he knocked on the door. "Senpai! Wake up already, we have to work quick today."

..no response. Huh, she must've been very tired yesterday. He knocked again, this time with slightly more force. "Senpai, seriously? Wake up already!" Panic slightly started to fill his veins, as he thought of millions of possibillities. He knocked on it again, trying to wake her up now. With a massive punch, the doorframe shook and the punched area was caved in with a punch mark now. "SENPAI! WAKE UP!"

Even then, there was no response. With rage and worry filling his mind, he just opened the unlocked door and shoved himself in, angrily sighing. "Senpai, what are you doing-" he stopped himself as the lights were turned off in the student council room, and on her desk, was an small white envelope, illuminated by the sunlight coming from the window behind the desk. It had gathered dust already, so it must've been already written a long time ago.

His hands immediately lost their grip on his rifle, as it fell to the ground with a resounding clang. He rushed to the desk, taking out the note inside it with trembling hands. Inside it, there was a note labeled as: "for my kouhais." With his eyes already starting to water, he started to read it.

"Hi! To whoever is reading this note.. if its Arata-kun or Hoshino-chan.. I first want to say that I'm very sorry. I'll have to leave you two for a bit. Its.. a big commission, one that might help us remove our debts from our backs completely. It will take long, maybe.. at least a month. But I know that you two will be able to survive off without me. I'm just a idiot-senpai, right? Well, I'm gonna change that. I'll finally contribute to you both's work, and maybe.. make Abydos bask in its former glory again. As of this date, I am removing myself from the office of Student Council president and giving it to Hoshino-chan. Arata-kun, please take the vice president's seat. Till then, you sillies~

Kuchinashi Yume, former student council president of Abydos."

His knees just buckled as he read the last lines of the note, not being able to form a word, let alone a sob. She had grown to him, as she had treated him like a mother-to-son kind of way. He was dependant on her, and with her goofy jokes and crazy ideas, she always made him laugh. All of those memories flooded past. But he just picked himself back up, and filled his mind with hope. She did say that she might come back, right?

..

.

15 days later.

On day one, he noticed that Hoshino had took 60% of their money in their joint bank account in Abydos. He was angry and sent her a couple of texts, but it seemed like he was still blocked as she didn't even read them.

Day two, he kept working and doing sentry duty on his own, barely getting any sleep as the Helmet-gang looked for opportunites to attack the school. It seemed like they knew what was up, and ramped up their patrols along the school walls, making Arata almost unable to sleep. He still contacted Hina, although she could only help him with words.

Day three to 10, he didn't even know how he had kept going on. He only got one hour of sleep each day, had to ration his food and ammo as he didn't have enough money to buy new ones. He was deeply sleep deprived, and was in a zombie-like state. He started to not talk to Hina, as he was too busy trying to stay awake.

Day eleven, they finally attacked with full force. He cursed his luck as he picked up his rifle, but almost fell to the ground as he lost his balance. The gangsters were charging into the school grounds, and Arata wasn't shooting fast enough. And their counter-fire forced him to duck down, and soon enough, they had already entered the school. He immediately went down the stairwell to repel the attackers, but was hit with a flurry of bullets.

He just attacked them with pure rage as he swung his rifle wildly, his hands grasping the barrel tight. With his rage-filled attacks, one by one, the gangsters fell. And their morale fell as they saw what kind of an monster he truly was. He looked like a demon, as his eyes were filled with hatred and his movements fluid. And with a cry of one of the gangsters as she fell into Arata's grasp, they finally broke and fled. And he just sat there, exhausted.

He fell into a coma for 4 days, his body barely keeping itself alive. But when he awoke, he knew what he had to do. He had to bring senpai back. Whatever he needed to do, he needed her back if he wanted to coax Hoshino back into the school. The hunger and fatigue of his body was just making him angrier, his vision slowly blackening, and he didn't even notice the pitch dark gooish sticky substance that followed him on his footsteps.

His only thought was that he had to bring his senpai back, but something made him unable to leave the school. He ran up the stairs, spent bullet casings and some trash lying around in the corridor. He picked up the note that his senpai had written on, and started to write on it. He wrote furiously, with all of his rage and gulit and sadness, and left the room. He didn't care about the school now. If he just was able to bring her back, everyone would be finally happy again.

Everyone would be.. happy, again.

His mind slowly faded away as it gave way for something new, but was also was old. Ancient. His halo slowly darkened as he ran through the school, soon leaving it.

The sun looked beautiful today, but all that mattered to him now..

Was getting her back.
