As Arata walked towards Abydos, with Hoshino on his  back, Hina just couldn't believe why he had spared her. She knew that they were close, and if it was her, she would've knocked out the person who had tried to capture his friend.

But, no. He was somehow different. She stared at his momo-talk number with unfocused eyes, before picking up and putting it in her pocket. The operation was a failure, and she had to clean up messes back home.

Meanwhile, Arata quickly ran to the school council room, shouting. "Yume-senpai! Senpai! Takanashi's hurt! We need help!" As Yume saw Hoshino and Arata, both looking hurt as they were covered in dirt and grime, she immediately sprang into action.

She first carried Hoshino to the nurse's office, and put her down on one of the beds as she wrapped bandages around Hoshino's wounds. Arata stood behind her, applying anti-septics to her wounds also.

Yume sighed, as she looked at Arata. "Arata-kun, what happened? Hoshino isn't the one to get hurt this badly.." Arata looked down slightly in shame, thinking that he wasn't able to protect her at all.

"She got ambushed by some other school. I helped, but she got hurt, badly. I.." tears started to slightly form in his eyes, from the exhaustion of the fighting, and the feeling of helplessness. "If.. I was only stronger and faster, maybe I could've-"

He got cut off as Yume hugged him from behind, and she said with a soft voice. "Arata-kun, this isn't your fault, okay? Shhh. At least both of you got back in one piece, I'm proud of you." Arata hugged her back, crying softly in her arms.

Soon enough, Arata's body went limp, and Yume's heart stopped for a moment. However, she soon realized he was knocked out from the exhaustion, and put him onto one of the beds too. She left the room with a soft smile, slightly feeling hungry as she went to the shiba-seki ramen shop.

A few hours later, Hoshino woke up first, to find two ramen bowls at the table. On the bed across from her, was Arata. Her body felt stiff, and ached from all of the fighting. It had been a while since she went all out like that.

Still, she couldn't understand why Gehenna had attacked her so suddenly. She knew her school was weak, but did the Gehennan student council not think about the political reprecussions for attacking them? She couldn't help but feel sick.

The strong should help the weak, not crush them into shreds. She sighed as she slowly got out of her bed, and approached Arata's sleeping form on the other one. She crouched down beside the bed, watching his breathing for some reason. She didn't understand Arata too.

Even when she always tried to push him away, he always came back for her. And he had essentially risked his life. If he had chosen to fight, and they both lost, they both would've been captured. And now, he was sleeping soundly, exhausted because of her. This complicated her feelings even more.

She knew he was kind, and didn't come close to having a short temper. He was like that idiot, but.. he just felt different, somehow. He was just a little bit more intelligent than that idiot, probably. But she just couldn't help but stare at his hand.

It was full of scars and scabs, probably from the harsh part-time jobs he kept doing. She slightly frowned upon them, and couldn't help but sigh as she felt sadder. He didn't really belong to them. He just came outta nowhere, and decided to help them. And thanks to him, their financial situation was getting better.

Although.. they weren't going to pay all of those debts that the previous council had left them to pay. But still, it was a great start. She stood up, and picked up her shotgun, and sat on the bed, just waiting for Arata to wake up finally. And she didn't know it, but her eyes were full of warmth and care, for the first time in forever.

When Arata woke up, an sharp voice cut through his head as Hoshino shouted. "Wake up already, you damn sleepy head. We are gonna be late for night patrol!" Arata immediately sprang up from his bed, but slightly frowned as he saw her giggling. "Gosh, you are so easy to trick." He rolled his eyes before flopping back into bed, his eyes half closed.

"Ughhh.. the hell did you wake me up for thenn?" Hoshino just giggled a bit more before responding. "Its just funny, Arata. Besides, you are sooo easy to trick." Arata, upon seeing her smile, couldn't help but follow suit as they just laughed for no reason. After a good, hearty laugh, they just looked at each other for a moment.

"Well, I guess I am late for the night patrol." Arata slowly stood up, as his sleep ran away from him. But he quickly noticed that his rifle was gone, and someone was suspciously smiling again. He sighed as he slowly turned around to face the smirking thief, slightly smiling too.

"Takanashi, give it back already." She kept smirking jokingly, before ponderinf about it. "Mmmm.. no." He out-stretched his hand, beckoning her to give it back. "Takanashiii. I need it to do the patrol." She just pouted for a moment. "Call me Hoshino already, you dummy." She immediately threw his rifle at him before running out of the room, leaving him dumbfounded. But soon enough, he chuckled and left the room, trying to find Hoshino as he ran to the school gate.

Meanwhile, Hina was getting punished as she had failed her operation. "I told you Hina, you had to complete this operation successfully." Her senpai growled, her silver hair glinting in the dim light of the room. "Can't you understand the political reprecussions that we will have to face because of your failure?" Hina just silently nodded, her face filled with exhaustion. She had been shouted at from 10 different people for the past 5 hours.

The silver haired girl glared at Hina for a while, before sighing. "It really isn't your fault for failing, at least I hope so. We couldn't have expected that someone would've helped that pink brat." She lowered her GIA cap even more, before looking at Hina again with dark, cold eyes.

"I'll give you a new mission, Sorasaki Hina. Get info about him. Get trust from him, and find out every single nook and cranny you can find from him. Is that understood?" Hina stood into attention, nodding tiredly. The Silver haired girl pat her shoulders, looking at her with slight warmth. "Now, soldier. Get some rest before you start this operation. I know you can do great, alright?"

Hina nodded, before leaving her senpai's room. The girl sighed, hoping that she would be alright. The poor girl would've probably endured a lot of shouts and humilliation. Well, she had work to do now.

Hina, as she walked back to her dorm room, vowed to never fail again.
