Three blurs fought each other in a struggle that would decide their fate in the grand scale of things. Each had their own goal in mind, but one thing was certain.
The duo were somehow losing. Maybe it was because of their seemingly unending regret, as they couldn't hurt him at full power. But the lone walker knew that the advantage was on his side, and pushed it to their limits. He was not the boy who they remembered. He was reborn, cutting his ties from the past. Emotions made him weak, and relationships a liability.
Soon, Hoshino was the first to slip, as she was unable to block an uppercut to her chin due to fatigue. She lay there, coughing and panting.
"Uhe.. guess.. this oji-san got too.. tired.."
Hina looked back at her with a worried look, but couldn't linger long as an another rifle swing came towards her. She swiftly blocked it using her giant machinegun, before glaring at him.
"Why are you doing this?! Sensei might be the one to help stabilize Kivotos again!"
"Why does everyone keep favoring Sensei over anyone else?! Hina, can't you see that something is wrong?!"
The walker's eyes seemed so sincere and truthful, and she almost thought that he was being truthful. However, she saw that something was really off with him. His old, normal warm gaze was gone, replaced by hatred.
And soon, Gehennan reinforcements came, and detained the walker. Although, it was slightly a tough job as he didn't have a arm. Nonetheless, they were able to transport him off into Gehenna.
Hoshino finally breathed a sigh of relief, and sat down on some rubble.
"Seriously, without Hina-chan, I might've failed while fighting him.. ehe, guess oji-san got lazy~"
"..you changed a lot, since we last met."
"Me? Oh, of course not! This oji-san was always the lazy one, not a cold blooded killer!"
Hoshino gave Hina a warm, and lazy smile, but Hina was able to see through her facade. Hoshino wasn't herself.. at all.
She wondered if Arata was responsible for this change, or maybe she was trying to copy off of her dear senpai in her memory. She realized that she was thinking like an agent again, and waved the thought off.
"Alright then, I guess Abydos can protect Sensei for now."
"I'll call of Iori and her forces. I formally aplogize again for Gehennan forces intruding Abydos."
Hina bowed again, while Hoshino shook her head while smiling.
"Uhe. Hina-chan doesn't need to say sorry! Besides, it was them who acted out on their own, right?"
"Still, I apologize."
"Hina-chan. You don't need to, alright? You fought to defend Sensei too."
The two girls smiled, and went onto their merry ways as they said their goodbyes. But one thing was still a question for them.
For Hoshino, she wondered how did she know Arata at all? And why did she look so troubled when his face was finally revealed?
For Hina, she wondered what had had happened to Arata and Hoshino, not understanding a single bit why Arata was so hostile towards them and Sensei, and had lost his arm.
But their thoughts were washed away with more threatening matters at hand, and were soon forgotten. And problems don't disappear even if you forget them.
After the walker was captured, Sensei barely got the permission to meet him. Arata was starved as he was able to conjure up weapons so that he would always break out of his cell, but he did stop resisting when Hina stepped in.
