REN POV

"Time to train kids" Father said as he put one leg over the other and looked at us with confidence.

"No way" mirei said.

At this point we were comfortable with staying in the house that we rejected the idea of stepping out of the house because it was too much of a tiring work.Besides-

" We're just kids" mirei said as if backing my thoughts in my mind,I proceeded to argue.

"Yes, no way because both of us want to become traders like you father and im sure it depends on our skills and a bit of luck."

"Trader or not,I don't mind. But according to me,you guys have very good abilities to become adventurers.Actually you guys are quite gifted from what I can see." He said as he explained us.

I was puzzled by how he was able to say that without any proof but seeing its father,he might have a way to back it up.

"How?" I asked.I wanted to know how he was able to say that.

"Well, believe me on this, you could say it as a....a traders eye when they choose an adventurer to protect them on their journeys." He said as he closed his eyes.

He looked too overconfident but I could say that he had something but he wasn't willing to tell.

Knowing it was father we were dealing with I knew that we couldn't have a chance at debating.

"Well then we can just ask the adventurers receptionist on who to choose, since they know them more than us." Mirei said.

It was a valid point.But-

"Imagine they were someone whomwas after your loot, then wouldn't asking their advice put your life in danger?"

"At that point, wouldn't rewarding them just be a good idea?"

"True. But then seeing you have more than what you've given them, wouldn't that be a good enough reason to kill you and if you also take that root, knowing that soon you will be out of their league, they will act friendly and just a while later might also backstab you down the road."

I knew the argument was pointless and that he was just trying to push us to train but we didn't know what we were supposed to do in training so I posed the question.

"What exactly do you mean by training father."

"Finally to the point, well it includes learning magic and some physical training."

Magic was something I didn't experience once and I was pretty curious about it and reading a few books made my mind spin but that was because I wasn't really trying to understand what they were trying to say.

As much as I wanted to try it,I didn't want to get out of my comfort zone.

"I want to try." Mirei said.I was shocked because I didn't expect her to say that after all she was also arguing with me.

"But for you I'm not sure if..." He put a hand on his chin to think and then he covered his left eye with his hand and closed his eyes.

After a while he then returned to normal and opened both of his eyes.It felt like he was hiding something in his left eye but I didn't want to pursue because I know that father wasn't a person who'd just say anything when asked,he was a man of confidentiality when it came to important things.

"Oh..wow I guess both of you really are gifted"

"What do you mean?"

"Well for mirei,I'm sure you would have heard of spirits right? They use these spirits and derive power from these creatures.Well they're just like mediators." He said,he then leaned back to the sofa and proceeded to explain.
