Chapter 14: She's here

Dozens of arrows flew from the forest and into the sky coming towards the camp. The tips of the arrows were lit with blazing fire.

I exchanged a look with Jack and we stared forming an ice shield that surrounded the camp. Until finally the arrows were blocked from hurting anyone. The fire distinguished once it made contact with the ice.

I breathed heavily, staring at the arrows in front of my eyes. Jack placed a hand on my shoulder and I began to relax.

"She's here." Hiccup said briskly.

I cleared away the arrows from the ice shield and covered our entire camp with a protected shield. We all gazed at the woods waiting for what was out there to come out.

The dragons growled with hostility. Their powers were gone, because of the curse under a full moon. The curse on which the assassin has placed upon them.

Toothless's ear shot up, and I could tell he heard something.

"What is it buddy?" Hiccup asked.

But then the sound became louder. Suddenly a group of bears, probably dozens of them, came out from the forest. Their fur pitch black, but their eyes glowed in the dark. Teeth baring, they growled at us with pure hate.

Then a shadow appeared in the front of the pack. I held my breath. They were wearing a black hood, a bow strapped around their back with arrows along with it. The mysterious figure came to stand on top of a boulder near to the camp.

"Well, I see thee son of Stoik the Vast has new friends of his." The voice rang with a Scottish accent. And a female voice.

"What do you want now?" Hiccup snarled.

"Didn't you read mah letter?" She asked. "I'm here to gather a new prize."

"If your thinking about stealing our dragons, then think again!" Fishlegs spat.

She cackled. "Why would I want a bunch of useless reptiles when I already have my pack of killers." She gestured to the bloodthirsty bears gathered around her.

I gulped and gathered up my encourage go speak. "Who are you?" I called.

"Well if it isn't the Queen." She sneered. "Come back to have some more play dates, now?"

"Play dates?" I echoed. "What are you talking about?"

"Oh don't thee remember?" She chuckled. "It was when you were just a wee lil girl. I remember everything. We used to be friends. Me, you, Hiccup."

"We were never friends!" Hiccup shouted.

"Shut up." The hooded girl spat. She turned towards me, her eyes gleaming. "Don't ya remember me?"

"N-No." I stuttered, then cleared mg throat. "Who are you?!"

She cackled again. "Oh I'll show ye." She slowly took off her hood, revealing her long red, curly hair. Her face was clearly visible under the full moon. A smirk plastered on her face, her blue eyes glowed in the light turning them icy blue.

"I am Merida. Daughter of Fergus, the Bear King. A well known assassin. Leader if the bears!" She bellowed. "And I am here to claim my prize! This.. Is my Fate."
