Dinner was so awkward, the waitress kept flirting with Gray all night and everyone but Gray seemed to notice. She'd not so subtly brush against him every time she came to the table making a display of leaning over just far enough to give Gray a great view down her shirt every single time! I should know sitting next to him I got great views down her shirt, who does that!

And the worst part is no one said anything to her! I can't believe they all just sat there and watched and what's worse is that it's like they were all watching my reaction, what was I supposed to do, it's not like I can pick a fight with a werewolf for god sakes!

"Baby what's wrong?" Gray asks his hand on my knee as he drives back to his place I just turn my head further towards the window ignoring him "or just ignore me" Gray grumbles to himself. As soon as the cars in park I'm out and heading straight for the house as usual Gray is right behind me but I make it to Gabby linking my arm with hers "come on" she whispers pulling me up to her room knowing I don't want to be anywhere near Gray right now.

"Can you believe he actually asked me what was wrong?" I vent as soon as the door closes "like he wasn't at dinner at all! Everyone freaking saw it" I cry "everyone but Grayson saw it" she corrects "he was sitting right next to me, if I saw everything she had to offer so did he!" Gabby laughs "it's not funny" I cry.

"I mean her desperation for his attention was kinda funny" "Gabby!" I snap "oh come on Lace I know you're mad at him, but his attention was on you all night, not her. I don't even think he looked at her once" "you're not supposed to defend him" I mumble cry "listen I'm the first to admit that my brothers an ass, but he would not disrespect you like that" "yeah because of the stupid mate bond" I grumble.

"It's not just the mate bond, I never thought I'd see my brother like this, even with his mate. My god he lets you call him Gray, you talk back to him, hell you may have well just told him to fuck off with the way you ignored him and stormed off. No one and I literally mean no one just ignores Grayson and gets to walk away, my brother is not the nice, patient, forgiving kind."

"You're the one who told me he wasn't that bad" I gape at her "he's not.. to you" she mumbles the last part "Jesus" I groan shoving my face in my hands "so I just pissed off the most intimidating man I've ever met" I panic "werewolf" Gabby interjects "Lace" Gray knocks on the door "you okay baby?" He asks concerned "I'm fine" I say just loud enough for him to hear "then why are you panicking?" He asks twisting the door handle to find it's locked.

"I'm fine Grayson" I reply "Gabby and I are having a girls night" I add at the end hoping he'll leave "fine you've got a couple of hours" he huffs "but you're not sleeping in there" he warns as I hear his footsteps retreating. "He's pissed" Gabby says once he walks away "gee thanks" I tell her sarcastically "well he is" she laughs "that makes me feel so much better about seeing him" I laugh "please, all he's gonna do is grovel" Gabby snorts hopping on her bed "let's watch a movie, that'll take your mind off Grayson" she says like it's a proven fact.

"Why the fuck was she panicking?" I hear Gray ask as I feel his arms slide under me easily picking me up. I sigh in content at the warm tingles running through me as I snuggle into Gray's warm chest "she got in her head" Gabby answers simply "about?" Gray asks annoyed "pissing off her temperamental werewolf boyfriend" I can hear the grin in her face.

"What the fuck did you say?" Gray growls "why do you automatically assume I did something?" "Because I know you, now spill""she was upset about the restaurant" she sighs "why?" "Oh come on Grayson we all know Harley laid claim to you years ago and she wasn't at all shy about showing it tonight" Gabby yells at her brother "I was trying to reassure her that you would never disrespect her like that."

"Harley is nothing to me! I only tolerate her because she's Michael's daughter" he growls "yeah well maybe you need to make that clear to her before she pushes Lacey away!" Gabby snaps "now like I was saying" she takes a breath "I was telling her how you wouldn't disrespect her like that and she of course went right to it was only because the mate bond" "the mate bond has nothing to do with it" he growls again.
