Chapter 40 - Return

Allen stopped what he was doing and ran back to the cockpit. He saw the boat coming back.

" So he is back.... " said Allen " Connect me to the boat "

" Alright Captain " NOVA replied

" Wayne.... It's me.....Allen..... Can you hear me ? " asked Allen

" Yes...I can... " said Wayne

" Don't worry... The boat will carry you back to the ship. Sit tight. " said Allen

The boat returned to the ship, and Allen waited for Wayne as soon as he got off.

" It's good to see you back. I was so worried " said Allen

" What the fuck happened ? Why didn't you help me ? Why did you send me in there ? " Wayne shouted

" Hey.... Listen.... I can understand your frustration... But I didn't do anything. "

" When you got close to the shield, I lost control of the ship. Something pulled you inside. I tried hard to stop it, but I couldn't. "

" But I didn't give up.. I've been trying to bring you back since that moment. " said Allen

Wayne didn't reply for a moment. Then he tossed the drone into Allen's hands " here is your toy " and walked away.

" What now captain ? " asked NOVA

" We have to wait. " said Allen

Wayne had a difficult time believing everything Allen said. But he didn't have any other options. He returned to his room, sat on the bed, and took a long breath. Later, he heard Allen call him.

Wayne went outside and saw Allen

" You alright ? " asked Allen

" I don't know " Wayne replied

" What happened there ? What did you find ? " asked Allen

Wayne explained everything happened inside the shield.

" So, you think they are making these monsters ? " asked Allen

" Yeah, they are doing a lot of shit inside the ship. " said Wayne

" But everything you said is incomplete. We need more data. " said Allen

" That's all I know. " said Wayne

" But we didn't find an answer yet. We have to know more about them. It's the only way we could go back." said Allen

" How ? " asked Wayne

" By going back there " Allen replied

" Im not going back there. " said Wayne as soon as he heard the question.

" The portals are somehow connected to the the ship. If we want to leave this place, the answers are there. " said Allen

" But what about the monster ? That thing will tear you apart " asked Wayne

" Not when you have the sword. As long as we have the sword, the creature will not attack us. " said Allen

" How can you be certain that we'll find something there ? " asked Wayne

" Don't you see it ? Everything is connected. The monster that attacked you is here. The sword that can harm the beast is here. If I'm correct, this sword was made by someone who knows about the monster and the ship.There are a lot of mysteries to be solved. " said Allen
