note:
This poem is based on the movie "My Girl"I watched (not exactly something I experienced in life) but I found this movie really sad. It's one of my favorite childhood movies and watching it back as an adult brought me back to how emotional  This movie is so I wanted to write a poem about that!

Beneath the Trees, Our Childhood Dream

Beneath the Trees,
Our Childhood Dream.

In the quiet of summer, two hearts intertwined,
Beneath the branches, we left the world behind.
Bikes on dirt paths, laughter in the air,
We wondered about growing up, without a single care.

You were my first kiss, soft and sweet,
Curiosity held us, where innocence meets.
The others would tease, say we were in love,
But we didn't know—what were we dreaming of?

A ring was lost, among the roots and the leaves,
A symbol of a bond only childhood weaves.
We didn't know then, how fragile time would be,
How soon the winds would change, and steal you from me.

You promised one day, if no one else could see,
You'd marry me instead, under the tallest tree.
But fate has a way of stealing away,
The one you lean on, the one who stays.

Now you're gone, like the sunlight's last glow,
Taken by a bee, in the forest we'd go.
I lost my friend, my rock, my guide,
With your absence, something inside me died.

I'm told I'm not sick, but they don't see,
It's not my body, it's what's broken in me.
A girl with no mother, a father far away,
Only you knew the words I could never say.

In the memory of trees, and the dreams of that kiss,
I still hold you close, in moments like this.
Gone too soon, but forever you'll be,
The boy who loved me, beneath the old tree.
