The Hybrid Swan

Chapter Two

Anastasia's POV:

We spent three more day's with The Cullen's until we left to go back to Chicago. Nik said that Gloria found some answer's we were excited and worried. What if it was bad news, I have to try and keep an open mind.

We walked into Gloria's Bar and Evelyn ran straight into her arms with a smile on her face.

"My oh my have you grown." Gloria said.

"I grew up again!" Evelyn tells Gloria. 

"I see that, why don't you go sit over there and I'll bring you something to eat." Evelyn nods and goes to sit down. Gloria then walks up to us.

"I found some answers. It wasn't easy." She said.

"What did you find?" I asked.

"For me to get full answers I need that coffin Klaus." Gloria said. 

"No! No way!" Nik quickly. 

"What? Nik what is Gloria talking about?" I asked.

"My mother..." Nik said.

"Nik.. if she has answer then maybe she could help us." I say.

"She will kill me Ana!" Nik said. 

"M-Maybe we can change her mind Nik. Please.. this is for Evelyn." I say begging Nik to think of his daughter. I thought about it and eventually gave in. 

"Fine... but one hit of my mother trying to kill me she goes back into the coffin Gloria." Nik said.

"I understand." She said. Nik then called his other witch Gretta to get the coffin and bring it to Gloria's. I will admit I was scared for Nik.. what if she did try and kill Nik. What if she refused to help Evelyn and we have to put her back into the coffin? 

Gretta finally shows up with a warlock named Maddox that works for Nik with the coffin. They place it on the table. Even thought it need to be opened by Bennett witches Gloria found a loophole around it. 

She begins the spell and moments later the coffin opens and inside it was his mother. I will admit she was beautiful, her clothes we very very out dated. How long was she in there? Gloria casted another spell to help her wake up. Then once she woke up she locked eyes with Nik who looked terrified. 

"Niklaus." She said. 

"Mother." Nik said. Gloria helped her out of the coffin and now Nik was face to face with his mother. 

"Hi, I'm Anastasia, Nik's mate." I say trying to lighten the mood.

"Hello, I'm Esther." She said politely.

"We need your help... its our daughter." I say.

Esther's POV:

Daughter? My son has a daughter? I looked at my son who looked terrified of me. He held onto Anastasia, I could see tears in his eyes. My goal was to kill all of my children, they never should have lived this long. All the things I've seen them do while being on the Other Side. But yet he has a daughter.

"May I see the child?" I asked. Her mother nods and I follow my son and Anastasia. I don't have my magic so I can't do anything to harm anyone. I look at the child before me and she was adorable. 

"Mommy, daddy who's that?" The young girl asked them.

"Evelyn, this is Esther, she's your grandmother." When Anastasia said that it warmed my heart a bit. The child came running towards me and hugged me. I didn't know what to do. She then let go and looked up at me.

"I'm Evelyn." The little girl said introducing herself. 

"It's very nice to meet you Evelyn." I say to her with a smile.

"Are you here to help me?" She asked nicely. I looked at my son and Anastasia with a confused look on my face.

"She constantly grows... Gloria can only know so much. Your our only hope. Please.. I don't know what your intentions are with your family but Nik's changed. He has a family whatever you have planned I beg of you please forget about it and think of your granddaughter." Anastasia begs. Has he really changed? Could he change? Should I give him another chance?

"What is wrong with her?" I asked.

"Before I met Nik I fell pregnant by my ex who is a Cold One." She said.

"And your pregnancy was killing you wasn't it?" I asked her.

"Yes it was... how did you know?" She asked.

"I created them, it was one in a million that they would procreate. When one gets pregnant by a Cold One it will kill them unless they turn. You need not worry, she will stop aging at the age of eighteen. But she will grow everyday... but she is a special one." I say to them.

"Her gift is she can take any supernatural creatures form and either give it to herself or others, that includes gifts from Cold Ones." Nik says.

"I think because she was born a Cold One she grows everyday but because she took the for of a Nightwalker her growth rate sped up the process." The witch next to us said. 

"That could explain her rapid growth." I say. 

"I'll be okay?" Evelyn asked.

"You'll be okay my little one." Niklaus said to her. 

Maybe my son really has changed...

~Two weeks later~

Anastasia's POV:

Two weeks have passed and Evelyn is now fifteen. In the two weeks Nik and Esther have seemed to gain each other's trust. Esther's intentions have seemed to change once she started to spend time with Evelyn. At one point during those weeks Esther asked about her other children and Nik freaked out. He said they are safe and to drop it. I told Esther he would wake them when its safe and to not press the matter anymore. 

We've found out by Gloria that I could make hybrids. So Nik wanted to test the theory, he found a few Nightwalkers who were slaves to the night and willing to be part of this experiment. The first step was to put my venom in them so with one bite to their necks my venom started to spread. That process only took a few hours, we figured because they were already dead that it didn't take so long. 

Then Gloria suggested for them to drink my blood willingly for them to by loyal to me but turns out it was also to complete the next stage of the transition as well being loyal to me. The final step was to drink human blood. Once that was complete I had three loyal hybrids, Hanna, Alex and Adam. 

Hanna had the gift of sensory deprivation while Alex had pain illusion but Adam, Adam had three. Telepathy, lie detection and subjective precognition. At first I let them use there gift on me to practice with but it turns out I have a mental shield. My shield keeps gifts from effecting me. So not only did Hanna, Alex and Adam practice but so did I. I can now expand my shield to protect others. 

Esther has her magic back thanks to Evelyn. Adam used his lie detection on Esther and she has no desire to kill her children anymore. So all this time that was her plan. Thank god she doesn't want to do that anymore. 

Evelyn kept bugging Nik for him to wake Rebekah and he finally gave in. He could never say to his daughter. We all went to the warehouse where Nik was keeping his siblings and he opened her coffin and took the dagger out and handed it to me. It took Rebekah an hour to wake up. She took the dagger out of my hand and stabbed Nik in the stomach. 

"Screw you Nik!" She hissed. 

"Rebekah!" Esther said in a stern voice making her look at her mother in shock.

"Mother?" Rebekah said looking at her in utter shock and disbelief.
